I notice on HPC they refer to David Cameron as "Cam" or "Dave".....they have made him all cuddly and "one of us". It's completely ridiculous! The tories don't give a to!! about the type of posters who post on HPC (other than wanting their vote of course)...... the tories will take from the poor and give to the rich as they always have....
....enjoy what's left of the Labour Government. We're in for one horrible ride.A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

You mean that hard work might actually be rewarded and lazy people wont get handouts?
I'd agree, bit of a crapper for the worthless.0 -

Well let's hope you don't find yourself "worthless"
Here's one prediction I hope is wrong.
Blanchflower: Osborne's cuts will make 5m joblessFormer Bank of England member David "Danny" Blanchflower has launched a scathing attack on shadow chancellor George Osborne and said unemployment could hit five million under Tory plans to slash public spending.
Blanchflower, an employment expert who left the Bank's monetary policy committee at the end of May, said: "Unemployment is going to continue to rise this year and may keep on rising. If spending cuts are made too early and the monetary and fiscal stimuli are withdrawn, unemployment could easily reach four million.
"If large numbers of public sector workers, perhaps as many as a million, are made redundant and there are substantial cuts in public spending in 2010, as proposed by some in the Conservative Party, five million unemployed or more is not inconceivable. They could be our lost generation."
What makes you so sure you'll survive ths purge then?
I suppose if public sector workers don't get out and vote Labour in May we must ask ourselves whether they wanted to keep their jobs or not given that there are at least 6 million of them?

There are more than that 'not working' in the UK already.0 -
There is a difference between lazy and unfortunate.
And that will be evident compared to now when it makes more sense for a single mother NOT to return to employment because she makes more from the benefits the government chooses to give her.
It's not rocket science that if you work hard, you should have the money that you have made to spend. Why should you work hard, pay lots of taxes and give it away to those who can choose not to work?0 -
Well of course lazy people shouldn't be supported by the state. But what about those on low income jobs?
You can't deny that the gap between rich and poor has grown incredibly over the last few years. And the Tories won't make it any better, believe you me!
I think it was in one of the Michael Moore films where George Bush was talking to a woman who held down 3 jobs to support her family. And everyone clapped! So, let me get this right - it's a good thing that a woman has to work likely 70-80 hours a week just to get by?
Same mentality here. Oh if we all work hard, we'll be ok - what a sham :rolleyes:0 -
Gets my vote,if only for his stance with speed cameras.
Absolutely.
Speed cameras are horrible, pernicious, stealth-taxing, monstrosities.
They also cause accidents.
Whilst I agree that Labour had a great response to the global financial crisis, the facts remain that the public sector is bloated, the welfare state is endemic, and the nanny state is out of control.
Cameron makes my skin crawl, too much like Blair, but the party faithful have not lost their views, or influence.
A Conservative government will see massive public sector efficiency savings, a smaller government, tremendous reductions in the oppressive and deeply illiberal surveillance apparatus, and a return to some balance in society, where public sector workers realise they only exist because of the hard work and taxation of the private sector.
Public sector workers can look forward to working as hard and as long as private sector workers, and being grateful for the tax revenue they receive from those of us that actually produce wealth, which allows them to be employed to begin with. And not before time.
As for house prices, any government that has Kirstie Allsopp as housing advisor is fine with me.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Gets my vote because he is committed to reduce form filling in my profession so that we can do our job.
My new (Swedish Socialist) dentist couldn't believe the form filling required in the NHS. It diminishes patient care in her book. Sweden doesn't waste dentists' time like our bureaucratic, legally defensive society does.0
