    Second paragraph:
There is a laboratory where these Tory policies are being played out now. It is called London. Boris Johnson said he was a "progressive conservative" who would "help the poor" and "green the city". One of his first acts in power was to lay off half the people in London government working on lowering the city's carbon emissions, and to kick plans to limit pollution levels into the long grass.

    Single issue rag.....

As soon as the article stated speed camera statistics that show that they apparently reduce accidents, it was clear that the journalist was a biased muppet.http://www.grumpyoldsod.com/on%20the%20road.asp

No it's not - read on. Lots of issues. All pretty terrifying.

I think there is a real danger that when faced by the everyday horrors of life under Gordon, we forget how much worse it was under the Tories.
  • VERY SCARY. People completely look on the bad side of things that have happened under Labour but can you imagine where the country would be right now if it had been the Tories in charge? Gordon Brown was the best man for the job to help guide us through the 'credit crunch'.

I shudder to think what it would be like if Cameron's mob came into power.

Like I've said before, the country is sleepwalking into voting in Dave's Millionaires Club, who will be looking out for themselves and all their financially well-endowed mates.

They're not known as the 'nasty' party for nothing. Between them and Labour, we are f****d.

I disagree. I would vote for the Daleks, if they can stop such madness as outlined in this website.

an excellent article thanks for posting. i certainly agree with boris as the taster of things to come under the tories. public transport seems to have got worse under his rule (long waits even to get into the station most evenings, more delays, more closures) and fares have been hiked up. all the fun and innovation of free central london events seems to be dying out too. finding out what's been going on in ham and ful and you realise the rot goes even further.

combine the massive bank bailouts with the tories coming back in to make sure the benefits of this go back into private hands and the future feels a bit grim.

It doesn't matter who wins the election, politicians on both sides are just puppets of the banking system and were bought and paid for a long time ago.

The country is fractured and debt-ridden and we have been sleepwalking into a totalitarian state for many years.

Nothing short of revolution - resulting in smaller government, sound money and greater personal freedoms - will solve the problem.

    Hope not.

    Oh for an alternative.

Have to say I was at university with Jacob Rees-Mogg, who is mentioned in the article, who is the most terrifying !!!! you could imagine - I've been praying ever since then, that he'd fail to get into politics, that even the Tories wouldn't be that stupid - but I'm not surprised. Family connections winning through. The nanny thing sounds about par for the course. :(
