Victoria London Make up Scam?

I also bought it from Debenhams. I don't wear makeup but they made it sound good. A lot of stuff for cheap. They didn't compare it to brands or celebrities but I thought, normally lip gloss costs abougt £15 so all of this stuff will be worth it for £50. I was going to give it to my mum as she was with me, but now I don't want it for the sake of being tricked to buy it like that.
We were on our way out, and they were in the middle of the clothing department, by the tills. I thought I could give it as a gift, but I was thinking like that because I was really tired and on my way out. I didn't pay with card but with my Debenhams card. I want to email Debenhams to tell them it's a bad idea, but if anyone wants mine they can have it for the price including postage costs. Reason being that the stuff looks good, the brushes are very soft and there is a lot of stuff in there. But I am going to try and return it to Debenhams although the one I went to is far and I'm not sure a more local one will take it.Debt free

i will never be this niave again...next time i get hassled im going to say well actually i bought some and i ended up in a rash lol!!
I did exactly this in Central Station!!! Except unfortunately in my case it was true... I bought some of this stuff and discovered it at the back of the bathroom cupboard, unused and still in its wrapping. I had no recollection of buying it so I can only assume I bought it when I was very poorly as I have no memory of that time at all so I dont know how long it had been there for. I took it with me on a trip home, and bingo my sensitive skin comes out in a most attractive red rash!
I had just got off a train, was hassled with luggage etc and was heading for the Metro when I got collared by this lot. She started her pitch but I was like 'stop right there. I have some and I suffered a nasty allergic reaction so I dont want any more!' She was actually speechless - it was priceless :rotfl:*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
hmmm, we fell for these products yesterday in Debenhams too - I cant quite believe a big store would let scammers sell through them so easily, you tend to feel safe in the big stores but is it really a con? It was 50 quid for all this stuff they reckon should have been 250 or so but I will take it back if I find out its not worth a tenner!0

No information to say it is safe for all skin types. I have sensitive skin and this make up looks very cheap. Think best to give it away to a local charity shop with a warning on it. I was given two sets as a Christmas present from a friend whom I suspect was conned into buying it. I wouldn't offend her by telling her that I daren't use it.0

I also purchased a Victoria Jackson Make up set, from a motorway service station. I was not hassled to buy and I am very pleased with the purchase. I had a small problem with one of the lipsticks and when I contacted the importer, they sent me a replaceent straight away. THAT'S WHAT I CALL SERVICE.

Around her neck is a Lanyard and ID badge emblazoned "Victoria London" she tells your bored missus that Victoria London is the Make up artist on Sex and The City, although by the looks of the picture on the book, she could do with a few make up tips herself.
They show you a cheap plastic case that opens up to reveal make up, they tell you it normally retails for £50, she then shows you some brushes that are supposed to be worth £99 and a little book that she claims sells for £25..
You are offered the whole package for £20, you know its crap that probably has a total value of about £3 and walk away because you have common sense, however, your neighbours daughter isn't so savvy and when she gets stopped a few days later on the same stretch of street buys it ending up with a bad rash on her eyelids.
Does any one have any info on the people behind this "promotion"0 -
Makeup artists use MAC etc not some random name you can't buy in Selfridges.0
