You know, since the divorce she chucked out Satan's Butt Flap and haven't heard a dicky bird since. And that's a good thing. And how are you, my moneysaving pal? We've all been quite worried you know! We were going to have to sent eh Debt Assassins to come get you.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Helllooo out there in debt land

Things are not going to badly. My FIL (yes, the slightly dodgy one) has offered to help get my shop to the point where I can sell it, and has put money towards stock. The plan is to sell up int he summer and pay everything off. I've paid nearly £2k in the last month and a half, and now with LB not working I can't keep that up, so I contacted the council (who currrently get £200 A WEEK!) and told them they'd get £50 a week from now on. Didnt ask, told. I've paid them more than enough to prove I'm trying to pay it off, so they shouldn't have a problem. And if they do, they can tell it to the court, cos I'm just not spending any more of my time worrying about money.

In the last few weeks I seem to have decided in some part of my tiny mind that I'm simply not going to let it bother me any more. Might be the light at the end of the tunnel, with more positive talk of getting the shop sold, but it's a feeling I really wish I could share with you all. The feeling that it's okay, it's not going to last forever, and the determination to make enough money to never EVER have to worry about putting my card in a machine and praying it won't make that embarrassing honking 'Eeep Eeep Card Declined She's Skint'.

I read Paul McKenna's Instant Confidence the other day, it's quite good. I'm not a really nervous person, but I bought it (charity shop, natch) for LB who isn;t very confident in the fact that he's actually a worthwhile human being. It's a very motivating book, and I'd recommend it. I'm scouring Ebay for the CD on it's own, as the book didn't have it with it.

Raring to go on all my little projects, LB and I are now looking forward to selling up, and then working from home. No more commuting, no more bl@@dy customers, no standing behind a counter for 8 hours a day for a pittance, then having to go home and do the paperwork. It's going to be great, it's just frustrating knowing that's what you want, but not being able to make it happen. I have to get 6 months of decent figures behind me before we can realisitcally sell up, so only 4.5 months left. Can't wait!

I hope you guys are all doing okay, paying it off, updating your spreadsheets and thinking happy, positive thoughts. Don;t forget to take out or work out your Debt Free Date. Even if it's a long way off, it's a real date, and everyday you're closer.

    Hi

So glad you're back and as good as ever! Love your thread - when I see an update it brings a smile to my face - thank you!

Regards to the MFI - DON'T shop there - various reasons:
they are bloody sucking vampires and are dreadful, but aside from that, you can get their products from Howdens for at least a third of the price. Just get someone from trade to go in and order what you want - you could get teh plans etc from MFI but just don't get their stuff. We did, and are stilll cursing, but they forgot a few things for the kitchen so our kitchen fitter took us to Howdens , which is were MFI get their stuff anyway, and cupboard front were 1/3 price. They also have worktops etc.

Not sure if that will help.

Congratulations on your DFW wedding!! Do keep us informed about your bargains etc. I for one have a wedding guest book we never used that you'd be welcome to have if you wanted it - just let me know!

Just spent ages having a catch up - Very pleased about the impending nuptuals to LB. It's a pity that you couldn't DFW your Florida vacation into your hunnymoon, but think of the hours of fun you will have planning a truly DFW wedding! Hope we're all invited (with Rossendales & the Council on the wedding list!)

I got 3 lumps of carbon (Beaverbrooks crisscut 3-stone diamond ring!) as a surprise when I moved in with my LB (sorry LF!) - then he went to Glasgow for a week, leaving me starting a new job where I knew no-one, in a new town, with the cooker in the hall, the kitchen in the back yard & doing the dishes in the bathroom! And he asks if I love him!? The sweetie!

All the best - I know you'll crack the debts soon, you're an inspiration to us all
