I use Airmiles quite a lot....but never for anything but long haul flights.
Hotels are better through any other site (especially if you have Quidco) and European flights will always be cheaper through a low cost carrier.
Obviously, this is if you are doing a cost comparison and regard your points as money. If you just want a free holiday. it's great to have the option of getting everything in one go.
I'm up to 3 flights to New York so far. The only issue I have is that it obviously defaults to BA (It's a BA Company) and it's difficult to get any other carriers flights with the airmiles (In my experience).
BA is by no means my favourite airline
Could you tell us why?0 -
is this offer still running as when i log onto the tesco website im still getting 60 miles for £2.50.0

Hi
according to the first post....
"Terms and conditions
**Twice the Airmiles offer is available for customers who have not previously exchanged Clubcard vouchers for Airmiles and is valid on one transaction only for vouchers exchanged between 02/11/09 and 21/03/10. Airmiles bookings are strictly subject to availability and Airmiles Customer and Booking Terms and Conditions and our Carriers’ Conditions of Carriage. Seats available to us may be limited on some routes – especially in peak periods. Zones and prices are correct at time of going to print, but subject to change. Example shown is return economy from London. For direct international flights from regional airports, add 500 miles (if direct flights aren’t available, connecting flights may be booked by calling 0844 49 333 49)."
I exchanged last week, evidently there is a lag between the intial credit and the extra credit.Proud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

Tempted to convert my Clubcard vouchers but....
for those of you that have some experience with Airmiles, is it nigh on impossible to get flights at peak times (school holidays, travelling on a Saturday)?
Thanks0 -
i dont have exp, but from searching myself it seems so. ive tried every date from 21/06 - 21/08 in pretty much every zone 2 destination and i cant get nothing! just cash prices. think i will just ring nearer the time and say "what dates have you got where"
I am gutted coz ive found some really good deals on hotels so the holiday will be really mse - if i can get the flights!Everyone who thanks me when ive helped will get a 5% share when I win this weeks Euromillions......:p0 -
I applied on Saturday 20th for my airmiles and received a confirmation e-mail immediately. I have now received a order despatched e-mail to say the order is complete and the Airmiles should be in my account within 28 days. Do you think I was in time for the double Airmiles offer which finished on 21.3.10 as I applied on 20.3.10 and received confirmation from Tesco's on that date?0

I wish I read the terms and conditions before redeeming them, I didn't realise BA still charge you all the taxes and fees! (BA Miles). So I have to use 50,000 miles to get a flight to America and still pay something like 150 pounds in charges - still a saving I guess but you can get flights every now and again for not a huge amount more than that.
I'll just have to make sure I fly to their most expensive US destination at peak times to make up for it (assuming they have seats left)!0 -
