MONEY MORAL DILEMMA. Should Gwyneth give the lady her reduced steak?

My iniitial reaction would be to say to her - "tough". But I recall when I was a lad, a well dressed elderly lady stopped me outside a butcher's and asked if I would go in and buy her the pork knuckle that was on display in the window. She gave me the money - 50p - and I bought it for her and received rushed but genuine thanks. It was the cheapest meat on sale, and she was obviously too embarrassed to go in and buy it herself, but poor enough to have to ask a schoolkid to buy it for her. It would make me think twice in Gwyneth's situation.0

I wouldn't give it to her. She should be eating something soft anyway.0

I have seen the 'age card' played far too many times. Some older members of our society have learned to read body language and play on a sense of guilt. They know that some young people treat others with contempt and discourtesy so they have adopted this strategy.
I am a hard-hearted so-and-so. If it's on the shelf, it's fair game. If I put something back to look for a better deal and someone lifted it, I'd accept it.
On a personal note, I saw a shirt I liked at Silverstone and it was in my size. I took it off the rack and wandered the Paddock Store before I went to pay for it. From behind came a shout as a well-built South African bloke claimed I had "stullen his shihrt". HIS shirt? He had looked at it, put it back to look at some others and then decided on his previous choice only to discover it missing.
"All's fair in love and war, mate," I pipped as he turned to his friends and said, "'Ey, Bob, Tell im aive hed peeble killed for less." I held out my hand and we shook (hands).
It's a tough world. We're all trying to struggle.
Get to the store early for the pick of the fresh baked bread and pies. Get to the store late for the last minute reductions.

Still driving though...:(0 -
Of course I would let the lady have it. How can anyone behave otherwise?0

No Gweneth shouldn't have given up her steak, the pensioner shouldn't have put it down, once down it's not wanted. Old people get away with too much. from Grumpy Old Woman0

Or the answers could take a Fallout 3 approach:
The old lady says the steak is hers. Do you....
- Hand it over politely. You didn't want it that badly anyway.
- Tell her "Let's find a way to share it. That's fair, right?"
- Tell her "It's my birthday. I don't have to hand it over today."
- Spit on it then hand it over
- Turn her in to the security guards
- Make a comment about her mother
Best bet is grab it, and run away - hopefully the old lady is too old / infirm / weak to catch her before she gets to the checkout. If she'd pinched it out of the old lady's basket that would be different, but it's fair game if it's still on the shelf.0 -
Or enter V.A.T.S. and deal with it that way. Boom! Head shot!0

I've seen these coffin dodgers walk straight past people queuing politely to get to the tillls.
They've had more time top save than the rest of us so why should they be hard up?If national debt is increasing and we're in a global recession, who exactly are we borrowing money off? Aliens?!0 -
I wouldn`t give it to her,we`ve not had steak for ages.If she wanted it it would be in her basket.Im sure if it was the other way round she wouldn`t give it up.:A :shocked: :A0

I would stick in my trolley and walk away quickly
Emm no, i have more manners than tat.
But i have had been in some thing simliar.
Picked up reduced item ( not been re-reduced yet) which a SA was reducing items again with stickers and OAP said oh tats mine i was just waiting for the boy to reduce them again. So i just let her have it, as i have been taught to repect the older gen. But she should have picked the items she wanted and asked the SA to reduce them while she had them in her trolley.( I have done this in Asda and the SA dont mind.) So it would be hers, and not open for other to take. My Asda tend to reduce bakery stuff to 1p. It funny when ppl see it in ur trolley and try and find the 1p stuffA smile and manners doesnt cost any thing0
