Products evolve and folk have their own likes and requirements. Most of the commercial products are available as full time limited trials and this includes the full Internet Security Suites and Pro versions.

Why not download a few & try.

Disable your current VP and set the trials to scan but NOT clean and see if they detect anything your current product missed.Repeat with each product.

I have tried Zone labs, Kaspersky, NOD and Bit Defender and find them pretty much the same.

Why not give it a go and report back with what your current VP missed.

Nod32 for me. Been using it for 2-3 years now. It's light, doesn't get in the way, and I never been infected with anything it can't handle.

Sorry for the delay, had to have a look, long time since I used F-Prot.

You need the DOS version http://www.f-prot.com/products/home_use/dos/

I found a couple of places, still seems dead easy to automate, so here you go, YMMV

F-prot also do a Linux version if needed NOT free though

very kind of you. you get a 'thanks'. :)

Been using F-Prot for years now, no problems, and I like that I can put it on every PC on my network without paying extra.

People say this, but it's not really true. Norton can be bl00dy hard to remove sometimes, but this doesn't make it a bad antivirus.

I've just had a job at the weekend. I was called because Norton had picked up a virus, and could I sort the computer out.

When I saw the computer. I found that the Norton had expired in April (two months ago), but they also had AVG installed (and up to date). After running scans in safe mode with both antiviruses (seperately of course). I was surprised to find that only the out of date Norton found this trojan, AVG didn't report back anything at all. This was disturbing.

From what I've seen in reports. AVG has a bad record against trojans. This instance was certainly an eye opener for me.
