My first time on this thread, so here's this week's meal plans:
M: Pasta & cheese sauceadding some left-over gammon from Sunday's tea
T: Toad-in-the -hole and veg, making some pancakes with some of the batter
W: Spag bol
Th: Pizza, though might give calzone a go! l
F: Fish and chips
S: Burgers in HM cheese rolls
We always have at least two extra vegetables with each main meal, which will depend on what we have in the house. I get an organic veg box delivered every Wednesday, so sometimes the meals change a bit if there is something I fancy creating with the box contents.
Have a good week

Hi - joining up to this thread if that's ok as I need to get back into the habit of planning meals.
So, this week:
Sunday - Roast chicken breast (from M&S dine in for £10) with roast potatoes and sweet potatoes (from bottom of veg bag!) and greens
Monday - Stir fry veg and left over chicken with egg fried rice (using up OOD eggs) and a crunchy cashew nut and lime dressing
Tuesday - Spanish chicken pie with roasted butternut and salad
Wednesday - Houmous, sugar snap peas and baby corn - out at cinema (free screening)
Thursday - Butternut squash curry
Friday - Chick pea stew - must remember to soak chick peas on Thursday ngiht
Saturday - pizza treat with X-Factor!
Still using up loads of butternut squash from the Aldi super 6 offer so if anyone can suggest any other good veggie/chicken recipes I'd love to hear them!0 -
Hi Lilian good to have you on board. I use butternut squash in soup with carrot its delish. I also like it cut into chunks & roasted to go with various meals. When I was following Weight Watchers I used to have it instead of potatoes as it was a 'free' food

Oh yum - and that's a great tip about the 'free' food, I might join up to Weightwatchers after Christmas so I'm nice and svelte for my wedding day! Not overweight now but would be nice to tone up and lose a few extra Christmas pounds!
Am changing tonight's plan already as found 2 cooked chicken breasts in Co Op for £1.90 so going to make Spanish Chicken pie (thanks tootoo for the inspiration!) so can have roasted butternut on the side. That can use up some of last week's Aldi peppers that are going a bit soft, and also have a salad with it to use up some 25p salad leaves whoopsied the other day. OH can take some for lunch tomorrow then too.0 -
Change of plan tomorrow - not fishcakes - got lots of eggs to use up so using them hard boiled, the smoked fish (from freezer) and onion/spices to make a kind of kedgeree instead.Weight loss - here we go again - watch this space!
US...........And them............0 -
I'm doing well, it's wednesday and I haven't had a single thing off the menu for this week yet!
Cooked a woopsie gammon on sunday as people were complaining about not having any lumps of meat, then the fish pie which was supposed to be sunday lasted monday and tuesday!
OH's having a compacted wisdom tooth out on thursday (poor baby) so I'm thinking about starting with the lasagnie then (without garlic bread as he'll sulk if it's too hard and he can't have any) so at a bit of a loss as to what to have tonight...Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
