I'll get mine in unusually early this week - I'm off work sick so my meal plan is on the sofa beside me, rather than several miles away as is usually the case when this thread starts!

    My plan is:
Friday - salami and squash calzone
Saturday - rosti-topped steak and ale pie with spring greens
Sunday - ham hock joint with lentils and spring greens
Monday - ham and onion suet roll with veg and gravy (I found a mention of this on Thriftlady's Wartime Challenge, which I was reading during a quiet period at work (don't tell anyone, please! :o) - I haven't had suet roll in years, so I hope I can remember how to make it )
Tuesday - mixed veg chow mein with cashew nuts
Wednesday - ham, cheese and brocolli pasta bake
Thursday - I'm starting evening classes and won't be home until late, so I'll have one of my hm ready meals from the freezer at lunchtime and a sandwich when I get in

I look forward to seeing what everyone else is having (I'm hopelessly nosy! :p), and I hope you feel better soon, PP.
Back after a very long break!

There's no recipe, I'm afraid - it's one of my 'using up veg box contents' inventions! I'll make the bread dough in the bread maker, then spread it with a bit of tomato puree, then some mashed roasted squash, a few slices of salami and a bit of mozzarella, fold it in half and bake until cooked. I hope it works - my only concern is that the squash might make everything a bit soggy, but if it's well roasted it should be OK (fingers crossed, anyway!).

Thanks for starting the thread Pen Pin especially as you're not good at the moment. Hope your meds sorted soon.

I'm trying to ring the changes slightly as we're all getting bored of the same old stuff so a few new things are making an appearance. I've been looking at past meal plan threads to help ;) We are having:

Monday - Twice Baked Potatoes & Beans

Tuesday - Chicken Korma (Jamie Oliver's recipe) rice and hm flatbreads

Wednesday - Goujons of plaice in bread crumbs with wedges & peas

    Thurday - Chilli & Rice

    Friday - Pasta Bake

Saturday - Falafel Burgers in Pittas with salad & wedges (I'm making enough wedges on Wednesday to cover both meals & will freeze the remainder for today)

Sunday - Bacon, Onion & Potato Hotpot, buttered carrots with caraway seeds and peas.

Breakfasts are: Porridge, pancakes, toast, weetabix, fruit & yoghurt.

Lunches are: Soup, sandwiches, left overs & pitta pizzas.

Snacks are: Fruit, yoghurts, dried fruit, weetabix cake, white choc chip & raspberry muffins & lunch items. I've also got my usual mean selection of crisps for the children to have the odd bag :rotfl:

Hope that everyone has a good week.

Hi everyone :) Sorry to hear both PP and CCP aren't too well at the moment - hope you are both feeling better soon x

That calzone does sound yummy - as do Sunny Girl's white choc and raspberry muffins!

Playgroup means that DD's new routine sees her ready for a nap at about half four. She then doesn't really want to eat after her nap, until she has something small at supper. We seem to have hit a good thing with her having something light at lunchtime, then a tea at about 3:30, having supper a bit earlier than usual at 6. It means DH and I don't get dinner until 8:30-9ish. Extra planning! ;)

On top of the usual bread-baking, this weekend I will be making a big batch of high-calorie soup and loads of high-calorie fruit oat bakes for my dad (not only is he terribly ill, he is being dismissed on health grounds and is having trouble getting state help, which means he and my mother will be living on £80 a week until February when my mother's pension begins :( ) Hopefully this will help them out a bit and he will be getting something high-calorie that doesn't come from a high fat or processed source

Morning snack when not at playgroup is banana and raisins, and baby gets her porridge then.

I can't take credit for them I got the recipe from another OSer on the Daily Thread - here is the recipe. Can I have the recipe for your carrot & orange ones too please? They sound yummy & I'm experimenting with muffins at the moment as they're so much quicker to prepare than a traditional cake :D

I made the carrot cake from this site (it's further down the page.) It was very yummy, even without bothering to make the icing! So I thought I would give them a go as breakfast muffins, using some orange juice to replace a little of the water or perhaps just adding some zest ;) Here's hoping they are just as nice as the loaf cake :D

Sadly, I can't say I recommend the vanilla sponge cake with the same enthusiam :)

Thanks Boodle I've copied it into my recipe folder. I'm not vegetarian but use a few meatless meals each week to cut the cost down & to fill up the hungry boys ;) I'll give the cake a whirl tomorrow as I've got all of the ingredients in unusually!
