Totally ca*pping myself as to where the money is going to come from to get out of the overdraft. I'm roughly £100 closer than I was at the start of my "challenge" but most of that is thanks to eBay, BB and my sealed tin.
BB is going to run out soon, my new sealed tin is staying sealed till the start of December next year and think eBay and work will be seriously quiet in January, majoras to where I'm going to get the extra dosh, doh!
I'm going to have a proper massive room clear out over my few days off, really be ruthless, antything that's not been worn, used etc etc is heading into piles (if my sister doesn't want any of it!): eBay, Charity Shop, Bin.
I think a nice tidy, clutter-free room will be a good start to 2010 (and easier for when the move-out comes around!)
Hope everyone's wellThe debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time

Hi DBG,
Just thought I check in see how you/everyone was doing? Ready for christmas?
I am officially still got abit of wrapping to do but have done my food shopping and well can't wait for January - that may seem bad but I want to put right everything ie debt that I have got soooo wrong and well Jan is the beginning of the end for me or at least on the road anyway. I have even set up a saving a/c so that when we go on holiday I have a little tiny bit to help me out (not alot just a little bit so its not such a shock)
Am enjoying my time off though...
Hope you have a good christmas.
Oh ye, even though I am off I am going to have broc mushrooms and pasta (homemade) for lunch tomorrow (almost like packingup)so fingers crossed for a NSD

Hi Duckie, hope you had a great christmas and are enjoying your time off!
I've been avoiding the internet (apart from bb) to stop myself buying uneccesary "bargains"
For christmas I got lots of things I needed, clothes mainly so am uber chuffed. Also got a couple of fun things and some vouchers so I'm all set for the next year.
My brother got a wiifit for his xmas (the mse way, bought with discount codes) so we've been having a right laugh with it, and hopefully shedding the pounds added with xmas dinner and all the chocs & mince pies :rotfl:
I've also started doing the right proper clear out of my room - have a big box of stuff already and I've still got loads to go.
Hope you're all having a great timeThe debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time

Worked through a pile of papers and nonsense stuff I was hoarding last night, felt really good to get shot of loads of it.
BUT I actually paid attention to my last cc statement, they've put my apr up to 29.9% including balance transfers (that I'd just done thinking they were on the lower rate ) Phoned for a replacement card today (forgot the cc number is on my statement too so would've been able to do a transfer that way too ) anyway, long story short they're offering my 0% for 12 months on bt's from the 1st of Jan.
No use to me whatsoever since my other cc is 0% till next dec. The plan for tonight is to see if I'm going to be able to get another 0% deal. Going to apply once, if I have no luck I'll see if I can get a better deal with cc3 before closing it.
Last night I also marked out days in a little notebook I found so I can keep a spending diary for next year, get me back into gear with the bringing lunches to work.
Forgot that lots of places would be closed today since boxing day was Saturday, has wound me up totally too as I'm waiting for stuff that should have been here on xmas eve.
I think I need to find out some way of becoming less stressed with everything
Back to more tidying and sorting through stuff for flogging! The debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time

i know what you mean about things getting all stressy, yesterday i was close to the edge as the roof fell down in the porch (been trying to get it fixed but one flat owner didn't think it was important enough), the fryer died a death and wouldn't switch on, so i've been waiting for no3 to go wrong.
on the upside we've just sold OH's scooter so that's a weight lifted.
Hope you find a way to destress - maybe a good book in a long soak if that's at all possible.0 -

What a nightmare LT, hope you get things fixed soon! I'm lucky with the fact that I live in a detached house, and apart from halls/flat living while at Uni I always have so there's never been other people to factor into housing and what not.
I think I tend to focus too much on the negatives and not enough on the positives. I did get lots of Lush stuff for Christmasso will def be treating myself to some nice long baths soon.
Applied for the 0% cc tonight but don't think I've been accepted, have to wait for them to get in touch which usually means uh-uhwill wait and see but if they don't then I might try get a decent rate from cc3 when I go to close it.
Went through more paperwork stuff tonight, don't have a clue why I was keeping some of it! Have 2 carrier bags of stuff for recycling and another 2 for shredding! Should be a task for tomorrowThe debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time

Super quick update from me (highly exciting
)
Have signed up to the World Cup Countdown, aiming for Fair Play - £1010. So I've got my moneymaking work cut out for me over the next 5 and a bit months, did find some random bits and pieces to sell while clearing out my room though and am remembering to go through quidco for cashback now too.
Have big plans in the pipeline with work too and need to get cracking with them too.
Heading out for a quick visit then I'm going to have a nice bath with some Lush stuff from xmas and a nice thick Harry Potter bookThe debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time

Happy New Year everyone! Here's hoping for a fantastic debt-busting 2010
My aims for January are:
*Clear the overdraft by the end of January
*Close CC3
*Get the scary 30% interest card transferred to a better deal if possible.
*Sell as much [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] of my treasures as possible of ebay
*Take my lunch to work for 5 out of the 6 days each week, take juice/water every day (bought in 'bulk')
*Have 15 NSD's
Think that's enough to be getting on withDoing a baking tonight but apart from that having a rather lazy weekend I think, well, will be prepping stuff for ebay at my leisure tomorrow to ease myself in gently

Happy new year to you too.
Your plan for Jan sounds good, I also think its a good idea to set yourself monthly targets to break the year up alittle bit.
I too want to pay a few things off this month or at least make a start, only problem is its 4 weeks till payday and well I officially have no money left. Budget is going to have to be amazingly tight. I'm also going to not take any money or my bank card to work with me this week so if i need anything i can't have it anyway. I know its abit drastic but i have to do something if i am going to make it through the week lol.
Good luck with your plan, I'm off to think of one for myself

When I'm feeling particularly skint I take out a tenner (or twenty if I've got to get fuel) at the start of the week and leave the debit card at home. It really makes me think about exactly what I'm spending it on since it's cash you can see and feel instead of that bit of plastic and makes me a bit more inventive with meals, entertainment and what not.
Realised last night that I'd left my camera charger at work so couldn't take any photos for ebay, was well annoyed with myself as I was so motivated
Hbos's website is playing up again, it seems to be rerally bad over the last while for doing that  I flipping hate that account and cc too, want rid of them asap.
I've decided that the WCCD money I'm [STRIKE]*hoping*[/STRIKE] GOING to make will only be counted when it's paid off the credit cards, the overdraft is going to be a completely seperate mini challenge as if I count anything paid towards that and then direct debits come off it will seem to be vanishing iykwim
Had myself a home-made chicken sarnie today, was seriously goodand am going to be busy with house planning stuff later tonight so not going to be spending a bean (as long as I just spend my lunchtime on mse and not on ebay/amazon :rotfl:)
Hope being back at work isn't too cr*p for you all!The debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time
