This is just far too primitive to comment on, sorry, not impressed.

What relevance do the ages of your children have to your current job?
When they are older will this have more or less relevance?

Having children proves nothing at all - not even that you can reproduce, they can after all be adopted.

As a married/divorced/married mother of 2, it wouldn't enter my head to put any of that on my CV, not because I want to hide it, but because I don't see what relevance it has on my ability to do a job....in the same way that I'd not expect to be asked about it at interview

I understand your point but referring to your last sentence - the OP is a contractor. Firms hiring contractors don't want 'personality' they want the exact opposite, requiring only a skillset they can use for a while then discard when it suits them.
I know, it is hard out there to fight for your place, especially in the construction industry...
But cheerful and open disposition has its value in any industry.

    What????

So they are not married but more married than not? How does that work then?

Don't even try to get it, obviously too hard a concept.

Okay if it is too difficult for you to explain here is an easy question for you.

    Is the OP married?

(A clue for you the answer is not yes)

Why would it offend my sensibilities?

Why do you put your dob on as it has no relevance to your employment prospects as it is illegal to discriminate on grounds of age. (amongst other things)
this is hillarious, in my cv I am presenting myself and not you, and if I do not care about hiding my age why should you?

I merely ask as it has no relevance as to your suitability for a job.

And if they separate, will they be "sort of " divorced?

People realised that it was a totally meaningless concept!
