Well well, never tought my humble opinion would cause such a controversy here!
I always put offsprings in, even their age; never had any problems with it. I consider parenthood my greatest achievement so far.
Never had any problem with the truth, besides, if you can handle children, you most likely can handle anything!
For those of you who would rather sweep them under the carpet I can only say good luck....
I always think that is rather cool add-on to my personality, but it seams to be just me here....shame:cool:0 -

Marital status and number of offspring should be left off a CV, it is irrelevant to the modern workplace.
Decades ago - i.e. about 40-50 years ago - yes, a newly-married man was just what Companies were looking for and a newly-married woman was just what Companies were looking to avoid. However, the world has moved on thank goodness. Also gone are the days when single men got nowhere because they didn't have nice little wifey back home to act as hostess when the boss came round for dinner.
Simply BEING a parent is not an achievement by the way! Bringing them up properly may be, but simply being a parent is very easy and indeed often accidental! How embarrassing to put your children on your CV as 'achievements'. All it shows is that you can copulate.0 -

It does indeed.
Do you, for info, put your own age on a CV?0 -

It is not irrelevant, and it never will be.

This is just far too primitive to comment on, sorry, not impressed.

aren't you a perfectionist?
Yes, technically speaking you are right, but someone in that situation is rather more "married" then "single"0 -
For your info, I do put my date of birth, I hope this does not offend your sensibilities?
Why would it offend my sensibilities?
Why do you put your dob on as it has no relevance to your employment prospects as it is illegal to discriminate on grounds of age. (amongst other things)0 -
This could be a thread on its own.. but if you haven't got a piece of paper stating your are married in the eyes of the law it is a lie to put it on a CV. In fact, it could be used by an employeer to sack you.aren't you a perfectionist?

I mean, if you can't tell the truth on that, could your '4 years experience of C++' be a lie also?0
