Marriage status

I would definitely put it in as Maritual Status: Married, one child.
Because that is what you are, with or without marriage certificate.
It shows maturity (lets face it, you want get this across too), it shows that you have a commitment you are not shying away from, that you are proud father which is lovely, and that you are, therefore, much less likely to turn up hangover every single day of the week....maybe tired, but that is ok.
It is always best to show the best of what you are, not what you are not.
What a lot of assumptions you seem to make based on someone saying they are married (when in this case they are not) with a child.
I can't see how someone saying they are married with child(ren) shows anything you have suggested above.
As others have said I would leave it off any CV0 -

b - it is not relevant.
c - it doesn't show anything at all0 -

Talking from an employers perspective, it doesn't interest me at all if someone is married or not when looking at CV's.
Sorry but all of that is totally irrelevant and pointless to an employer.I would definitely put it in as Maritual Status: Married, one child.

OP...do not take this advice from Thursday as it will not help one iota.0 -
If an employer thinks better or less of my abilities because of my marital status, I'm not sure i'd want to work for them.
If you aren't married, then you can put single on your CV. You could put 'cohabiting' if you really like. Personally I don't put anything other than contact details, educational history, past work experience and skills on a CV. Anything else is superfluous to requirements0 -
what do you think married says? then put that instead. I like cvs which say
"fully flexible about work hours and location" which i think people imply using single but that statement is more relevant.
if you aren't, it's a hinderance, so leave it off.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
I vote for leave it off entirely. There may be a small chance that you might not get a job because of your marital status.
You're a guy (obv) but how would people advise a female in your position? If I were to put 29, engaged. I would assume that the first thought to pass through an employers mind would be "well she's gonna be popping sprogs soon"
Best not to address it at all I say. Your home life should really not have any influence on your applications.0 -

Thanks for all of the advice, I am indeed living in sin, thankfully live in a city where nobody cares. Consider my marital status now secret information due to its irrelevance!0 -

If you are not married or divorced, then your status is single.0
