Patchworth cat the 1942 birth certificate was a small one they dont give to many details on them, I only needed it to get a passport. We did know it was wrong. Joe Bloggs woman have always lied about there age, but not like my wife on an insurance document.0

OP, to your original question (and Im no expert), if anything happens to your wife you will be required to provide a death certificate. If the death certificate matches up with the details held by the endowment company then there shouldnt be any problems.
Her medical records (place of birth/date of birth) will used to fill out the death certificate, so the chances are the endowment company will notice the descrepancy.
How do her medical records tie up with her age claims on the endowment policy?
In my humble opinion, Insurance companies dont need much of an excuse not to pay out and this would be a huge excuse not to pay out, obtaining services by deception etc.
If it were me, and like I say Im no expert, then I would inform the endowment company that there was a typo error on their paperwork and infact your wifes dob is xx/xx/xxxx and hope that this doesnt have too great an impact on the policy - probably better than paying a policy that may never pay out! But please seek more expert advice on this, dont just take my word.
This isnt a judgement on you or your wife and it is rhetorical, but if you do decide to come clean, be very sure about your facts first.
So far you have obtained two birth certs for your wife - none of them agree with her version of her age/dob, are the other details correct? Is her name/place of birth correct or did she embelish those too?
You say you are married - she would have to have presented her birth cert to the vicar/registrar, which one did she give? are you even legally married?
What is your wife's explanation of this? how does she explain getting married with the wrong documents - or where they the right documents and both certs that you had are wrong?0 -
She was down on her medical records as dob 1939 when I realised this I told them she was born in 1935. Why did I do this because I am STUPID !!! STUPID!!! How do I kick myself. Do you think I could change the date on her medical records again???0

If you want to post links, create the post without that detail, then edit it in afterwards and it should go through...0

. My wife is now in ill health I sarted thinking about these endowment policies with the wrong birth date for her. What will happen when it becomes time for these to be paid out will I have problems?:rotfl:
Whilst a few of the other posters are thinking it's weird to lie about age for so long, I was kind of thinking it looks a bit weird that you're saying she's in ill health, with a laughing smiley after it.....0 -
Really you are just guessing what her DOB is. Before you tell anyone anything else FIND OUT WHAT HER DATE OF BIRTH REALLY IS. Where you married in the UK and was she born in the UK? Why is it relevant how much older than you she is? Maybe that is why she lied?0

First you need to find out what the CORRECT birthdate is - whether it's 1935/39/42 or something else.
Then you need to phone the insurance company & say "when consolidating some paperwork, it seems as though a number of my wife's documents show an incorrect birthdate - can I please confirm what date you hold for her ..." when they tell you you simply say "oh dear, that's another one that's incorrect. How do we go about correcting that?"
Don't ask if you can change it, just ask how you do it - subtle but important difference!0 -
Jez what do you think Ove been doing at birthdays. I've been singing happy birthday and buying ruddy presents. What a useless comment!!!
I am presuming what Jez meant by that comment, Jez correct me if i'm wrong ....... how do you celebrate milestone birthdays, like 40th, 50th, 60th birthdays or do you treat them all the same ........
