Jewellers gone missing!!

Hiya
I hope someone can help me. In May my fella decided to propose to me and chose the ring on a website. (Bizarre I know, personally I would have gone in the shop). Anyway he found a reputable jewellers based in Hatton Garden. Ordered the ring and was waiting for it to be made to order.
Luckily I spotted a photo of the ring in his inbox on the Sunday before the ring was due to be made. Unfortunately though I hated it :rotfl:and had to tell him I had seen it as I was so disappointed in the ring. (Im genuinely not selfish it was truely awful design) Anyway I chose one I liked and he called the company who said as it hadnt been made I could swap. They also said as it was a cheaper ring £250 would be credited back to his credit card. A few weeks later ring arrived and he checked his credit card but no refund. He emailed the guy at the company who emailed straight back and said he had sent it to accounts to deal with.
A few days later my partner got sent off on deployment and couldnt check his statements for about 4 months or so.
He comes back and the money still wasnt refunded so he went to their website and it is now a gardening website?? The phone is dead and fax, neighbouring jewellers dont know who they are and they are not traceable anywhere (apart from the person who emailed us is on facebook - its such a strange name its definately him)
Anyway credit card co wont do chargeback as its over 120 days (I have complained about this as the fsa states a chargeback can be done from 120 days that the purchaser knew of the problem which in my eyes is the date he returned and checked his statement)
Can anyone help with why a website would suddenly change from one company to another? COuld it be owned by the same people? Is there anything else I can do to get our refund?
(Hes written the money off himself - and I am thinking this too -, but Im intrigued what has happened. It cant be a scam company surely cos I got the ring and my fingers not green yet :rotfl:Im guessing they may have fell foul of the recession.
Thanks

Lol, i was hoping for just general reasons why websites suddenly change like that just in case anyone from the company was looking but i see your point.
The company is roca london but when you google the name it says online jewellers but defaults to a gardening company.
Thanks0 -
you were checking his inbox?

Not at all he knew i was checking his inbox as he was asked me too (we were waiting on an email from a solicitor who was selling his house) when he ordered it. The numpty didnt bother hiding it and forgot it was there.
Reason i opened it was cos i actually thought it was spam as its title said re your order and i just thought 'but hes away he hasnt ordered anything'
By the time id realised it was genuine it was too late lol!0 -

I should have mentioned I called them a few weeks ago and that name is not on their members list.
Tried the number and nothing happens. I thought it was my phone playing up but tried it off my fellas and just dead.0 -

When I try to get into ROCA via google, it's coming up with internet explorer can't find the page.
But Mr Fothergills garden website is the next one listed underneath it on the google page for some odd reason, so maybe that's why yours jumped to that instead. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
