In my clubcard rewards mailing - not sure if it will work for anyone else.

I see this is now on the weekly email. Having posted this thread on 3rd November an acknowlegment would have been nice Martin!
I must however, as others have done in the past, say that the word 'loophole' is misused when it comes to deals like this.
Tesco are offering a promotion where for an £8.95 pre order purchase you get 500 clubcard points. IF you use your points on clubcard deals, of course the points are worth £20.
As i say, this is not a 'loophole', its a deal/promotion offered by Tesco. Wejust happen to benefit greatly.

you need to spend £50 to use that code. i did and it worked fine.

on that note I originally made an order for just a br and a cd but decided to cancel and go for COD:MW2 as well for £32 minus £5 for the voucher and of course some cashback. However it seems dispite the original order being pre-orders (moon on 16th, and now74 in a week or two) they now email me saying i cant cancel! so looks like ill get an extra copy of moon and the cd! return postage at my cost! this was all in the space of 20mins. sent an email compaining ill see how i get on

I tried that code yesterday and it wasn't working for me. I was literally just about to buy the CD's & DVD's today anyway when your message (above) came through on my email, so thought I'd give it one more try and it worked! So, thanks for the great timing! :T

Am I the only one who's dubious about all the points being added properly on the next statement? I've ordered 8 DVD/CDs from this promo and will have to remember to check properly that they're all added in February.

  • glad it worked for you. im in a mess now, they wont cancel my original order and the new order seemed to have dropped the £5 off somewhere and of course they wont cancel that either. emails not answered yet and phones busy...getting very annoyed now!

There do appear to be issues with the Tesco system- I ordered three cds seperately but ordered them directly rather than via Quidco by mistake (losing 8% cashback) so I cancelled the orders and reordered via Quidco.

For the cancelled orders I received an email saying that the orders has been processed and picked ready for despatch- I knew this could not be correct because one of the cds was not released for three weeks and I'm sure they won't have had stock yet.I therefore rang Tesco Entertainment customer services who told me that due to a 'querk' in their system you could only cancel within 30 minutes of the original order (!!!!!) and they al;so confirmed that the items could not have been 'picked and ready for despatch' and that the only way to cancel such orders was to phone them directly- I have now had all of the items cancelled so at least this works.

You would think that given the huge profits Tesco make, they could invest in a decent system!!!!!

  • thanks for that, i cancelled within 30mins both times still didnt work. I will call them when i can get a moment (in studios till 14:30). ill risk a final go at the order and take my chances with CS.

At least you're able to place an order! I've asked them to completely delete my records so that I can start again.

Thanks, this was a brilliant deal for me. I used it the full 10 times and got some lightweight pressies to send to overseas relatives.

For all the people having problems, is this site operated by the "real" Tesco, or a ghost company behind the name. The reason why I say is that I usually make all my purchases on American Express (cashback) with Tesco and with Tesco Entertainment, it wasn't accepted.

It says in the T&C that the 500 points will only count once for each unique title, multiple copies of the same will not get 500 points each.
Hope this helps in case any one was thinking of ordering lots of the same to get lots of points!!

    I've copied the blurb below:
500 extra Clubcard points (Extra Points) will not be shown in the online basket at the checkout. They will be will be awarded in the February Clubcard Statement Extra Points will be awarded for each unique title purchased from the promotion title range. Multiple purchases of the same title will not be eligible for Extra Points. Extra Points will not be awarded for orders cancelled by you or where you return promotional titles. This does not affect your statutory rights. The Extra points promotion is for personal use only and Tesco Entertainment reserve the right to withdraw or amend this promotion where we reasonably suspect abuse
