The Great 'Student Discounts' hunt

Talking about computing the Apple discount is incredible!
If you have a normal student card you get about 5% off but I got a higher discount as I'm at an affiliated university and got my macbook, printer, iPod nano and a 3 year warranty for about £750. The iPod offer ends on Friday and I think the printer one doesn't have long left either but bear in mind that the laptop alone was worth £829! I was fairly pleased!!! Also, if you decide to use iWork and not a free software like OpenOffice then you can get it for about £25 from affiliated institutions!

Specsavers offers a great student discount of 30%,:j although I am pretty sure it only applies Monday to Friday. Doesnt apply to contact lenses, only glasses.

I recently found www.studentsinneed.com after they visited my uni in Manchester, they cost a fiver per card but I've already saved £6 on a French Connection dress so its all good!

Borders will be useful too come Christmas time...

Old student cards from sixth-form can be used if you look confident and cover up the expiary date- always works for me; especially in cine-world, no one who works there seems to bother checking at all.

Quick update - I asked about student discount in Game and was told flat no, no mention of NUS extra at all just no.

I can not get logged into Nus website for a few days, is anyone else having the same problem?

Strange

I get student discount in the Dundee Store ( and others in Scotland)

Also get student discount in Gamestation
