Evening all
Sorry to have been missing for a couple of days - been busy with Mum post-op. Drove Dad up to see her on Friday and Saturday (80 miles each way!) and took OS-style picnic lunch/snacks each day. She was discharged yesterday afternoon, and is doing very well, but it is keeping me busy (and cutting into my "surfing-time" on here  - good job she's the best Mum in the world and, therefore, well worth it, eh?!:rotfl:). Today's OS amounted to deep-cleaning the bathroom, and dashing to the nearest town (9 miles away) to speed around Asda/Aldi/Tesco to pick up groceries, while Mum and Dad had an afternoon siesta. Other than that, life is a never-ending round of making cups of tea and reminding people to take their tablets at various times throughout the day!!!
Snoozer - sorry to hear your sad news about MIL.
Cranky and George - will be thinking of you tomorrow...
Pen-Pin - sorry to hear you have been feeling rough; hope you feel better soon.
RosyRed - I will keep my fingers crossed for your son and the job!
Good news from me is that it looks like our house sale is going ahead after all. :j The buyer did request some money off re: our electrical issues - but not as much as we had thought he would want, so we were happy to agree. We hope to exchange later this week (at which point there will be a huge collective sigh of relief chez Piglet!!), and then it will be all systems go to crack on and complete asap. :T
I think that's it from me today. Thanks to everyone who posted messages of support for me over the last week - they were very much appreciated.
Hugs to all who need them...

Hi everyone
Just a late quickie, been busy ironing:doh:but DH lent a hand. Just been out for a very nice but not cheap meal, with our Dutch neighbours they go back to Holland for 12 days as we leave for the UK, so celebrating that plus her birthday and our anniversary in the next week. They are great fun, and we end up laughing a lot while out with them. Ended up back at theirs and playing cards "Skip-Bo" I will know how to count in 1-12 in Dutch soon as well as French and Spanish.
Don't worry Taplady I got thrashed too, some jammy so and so keeps getting the letters with the high scoring ability while I left with the 1's:rolleyes:
Pen-Pin sorry life is not good for you, hope you soon feel better :grouphug:
Cranky - thinking of you for tomorrow, and for George's birthday on the Wednesday :grouphug:
Snoozer - sorry to hear your dreadful news :grouphug:
Piglet - Glad the house move is progressing :T
Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
