    :hello:Good morning!

Haven't read the thread yet but though i'd tell you about the weird thing that just happened- - and Hallowe'en's over now....

When I came downstairs DH had recently left to go to the doctor. He'd locked the door as DS and I were still in bed. When I went to get the milk in off the front step, I did as I usually do, unlocked the door with DS's keys which were on the bookcase, got the milk, put it in the fridge. When it came time for DS to go to work - no keys! I always put them back on the bookcase after unlocking the front door, so we thought they had fallen down somewhere. All hunted among the stuff on the hall floor (mostly belonging to DS, and most could go in the bin but he's yet to "get around" to sorting it). No keys. His spare car key was in his desk at work!

In the end he got a cab to work and is driving his boss's car for the day. About 10 minutes after DS left, DH found the missing keys - in the front room, underneath something, on the sofa over by the window.

But neither DS nor I had been in the front room at all after I'd unlocked the front door :eek::eek:

The keys are now back on the bookcase, I'm just going to the baker's and all I can say is, those keys had jolly well better be on the bookcase when I get home! Still got vertigo, so will take my stick for something to lean on. DH has now gone to the optician to have his annual eye screening for his diabetes, so he won't be able to drive when he gets home as he has to have drops in his eyes to dilate the pupils.

Will be back later to catch up

    Hi everyone,

Not posted for a few days because we've had a traumatic time. MIL who was staying with us was taken ill and went into hospital on Friday morning. She died early yesterday morning. DH and the children are devastated, it's not realy hit me yet - I go into coping mode and then have a melt down usually a few days later.

Not a lot of osiness going on apart from making scratch meals form the freezer.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Snoozer So sorry about your MIL. Prayers are with you all.

Moiliere I've copied and pasted the biscuit recipe 7 - 8 dozen is about the quantity I need to be making for this lot ;)

Diva :o:o Also been known to eat condensed milk straight from the tin :D

2cats & Thriftlady The same homework gremlin was at our house last night  DS3 had maintained that he had no homework all through the holiday then as he was getting his bag ready some magically jumped out :p His computer time tonight is limited to doing his maths homework on the school website :D

Pen Pin Big hugs to you it must feel like a never ending battle some days :A

Very late on here today as I've been sorting upstairs out & knew I wouldn't go back up if I came down. It's given DD some time to get her latest college assignment started though. She's on her placement week this week but isn't in on Mondays - just as well as the buses have been on strike every Monday for weeks now.

Lunch was a quick sandwich and tea will be meatballs & spaghetti as they didn't get eaten on Friday. The house had a dust & vac through and 3 loads of washing are drying on various maidens upstairs. I'm seriously thinking of getting another tumble drier as its so hard to get everything dried when its wet outside. I swore I wouldn't get another when the last one went but with 6 of us it's a pain.

I'm off to have a look at the board now. Have a good day all & hugs if you're feeling ill/blue.

    Good Afternoon (already!!) All

Snoozer - sorry to hear of you loss
Lowesy - I am ridiculously excited but trying to contain myself in the name of decency!

Late posting today as DS1 started work at 7am and I offered to give him a lift ..these things seem like such a good idea at the time!

The weekend seemed to pass in a blur but I got some baking done and some braised mince done for the freezer. I completed my first job as a mystery shopper yesterday and it went without a hitch..I could see it become slightly addictive!

DH is over the moon to have all the kids back at school today so he and DD are enjoying some peaceful time watching cbeebies and I'm very jealous it would have been nice to curl up with them today.

I have scheduled Friday as my 'day of rest' well hours of rest might be more accurate - after the kids have gone to school/work/college and before they all get home again me DH and DD intend to curl up on the sofa watch rubbish TV and eat something nice-I can't wait !

Hope everyone makes the best of what is left of the day

Snoozer....sorry to hear your sad news.

Pen pin....hope that you feel better soon.

Cold here but some sun, clothes can go out for a few hours and then dry more quickly indoors.

Jayne and George...thinking of you both.

Dinner to-day will be spag bol, made with soy mince as OH never seems to cop on and it has to be used, have added lentils and a little oatmeal and it seems fine. Will be collecting DGS2 from school at 3 and he might have some too, as his mam won't be back from school until at least 4.

Note from doctor this morning to say to call for my x ray results, will do it to-morrow, hardly slept at all last night so slept until almost 10 this morning.

    Have a good afternoon all

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.
