  • Hi all

Hope everyone is ok. Its been a really busy & stressy week at work so far, roll on the weekend..that means I've not really felt very motivated to do chores in the evenings, I'm just managing to keep up with the basics & a few odd bits. I'm going to have to get my act together tomorrow & Friday nights tho cos we've got OH's parents staying this weekend & at the moment the spare room is a bit of a muddle. We've also got a broken bolier so no heating & everything from the airing cupboard is all over the little spare room til the man comes to fix it on Friday afternoon. At this rate they'll have to take us as they find us!

Apart from daily stuff I don't seem to have achieved much flying wise this week but I don't seem to have stopped much either!

Although I am still flying from seeing A-ha on Monday night :D

All this talk of step counts has reminded me I need to get another pedometer, I bought a broke a cheap one on hols  2000 steps in 15 mins is going some, not sure I will achieve those sorts of results but it will be interesting to see what normal day/week is for me.

I shan't be around much until the weekend due to the small annoyance of work getting in the way tomorrow and Friday :rotfl: so I would appreciate it if you could chat a bit less :p so I can catch up a bit easier!

Well done to all those crossing off lists, welcome to the newbies and hugs to one and all x

      Research gas/electricity suppliers
      Passport form
      Passport photos

Legs etc. waxed and eyelashes dyed! Leave booked, colleagues' calendars inspected for shadowing opportunities and emails sent. Living room, hall, stairs, sofa and wasp from spare room curtain... Heating is now on, as it was freezing when I got home, and dehumidfier has been moved upstairs.

Suitcases out and on spare bed ready for packing... whenever that's going to be :o I really DO need to get it done tomorrow night, as anything missing will have to be dealt with on Friday. In addition, I really do need to get a wiggle on at work, as I have a point to prove, so want to show that I'm exceeding targets on my induction plan (so I'd better remove one page from the spreadsheet, as I'm behind this week, but by the time I've done two flights I'll be way ahead!

I also have washing that needs to be washed, dried & ironed before I go!!! Oh yes, and I need to book a taxi for Saturday to take me to the airport...

Sports massage tomorrow morning. I know I should go for a swim first, but I just don't have the time!!
    1. No probs!

It is the first time I have made it so I am not too sure how it will turn out but it looks the same colour as the stuff you buy in plastic bottle without all the additives

Stores for 12mths - recipe from River Cottage Preserves Book

I'm not sure if it is meant to set as at the moment 2hrs after it was made it is fairly runny like the shop bought stuff

      Here we go then

      Chilli Pepper Jelly

      Makes 4x340g jars

      750g normal red (bell) peppers
100g any type of red chilli depending on how hot you like it (vary with hotter types and the fatter cooler types)
      50g root ginger peeled
      350ml cider vinegar
1kg bag sugar with added pectin
      juice of 1-2 limes
      1 level tsp salt

Slice peppers and chillis in half lenghtways and remove fibrous tissues and seeds
Chop finely either by hand or blitz with ginger in a processor
Put in a lg pan and add vinegar and bring slowly to simmering point
Add sugar, lime juice and salt and stir until sugar has dissolved and the mixture begins to boil
Boil for 3-4 mins and then remove from heat and allow to cool for 5mins
Pour into clean sterilised jars and seal with vinegar proof lids

      Use within 12mths

Nigella Lawson has a similar sounding recipe too which I nearly tried. Will see how this ones goes down first. I think this one is runnier, like a relish/jelly and Nigella's is more jamlike. I think it will be in her website (I am sad enough to have her Christmas Book I on offer last year - at least I am using it for numerous recipes this year!)

      :T:T:T

Thanks, your a star, will get stuff and give it a go. Will let you know how it turns out.

BR, Kitchen, dr &LR all S&S, all clothes etc ready for tomorrow, I'm off for an earlyish night, so night all.

Hello flyers as you can see I'm not doing very well this week. I've only just looked at todays list and it's 10.30pm.
I couldn't play tennis as it was raining but I did 2 baskets of ironing instead.

Waiting for DS1's blazer to finish in the w/m - he's only worn it 3 days and it's already filthy. I'll stick it on a coat hanger and hang it in the airing cupboard for the morning. Very worried about him he's asked me to drive him to school at 7.45am for extra maths help (must be a girl somewhere in the early morning start). His usual attitude to school is like my attitude to degunging plug holes - I know it has to be done but it's still really unpleasant.

Will try harder tomorrow. Am home all morning waiting for tradesmen to call between 8 and 1 so have no excuse not to get on with it.
