    for college next year. I left school 10 years ago with nothing more then 10 GCSE's and have always wanted to be a midwife, and doing some research on tinterweb have found out my local college do and adults access to education 1 year course which will give me the required qualifications to apply for uni. This whole losing my job kerfufffle (I love that word!) has been making me really consider what I want to do. Aaarrrggghhh I don't know what to do! Gonna have a good chat with MrLouboutingirl tonight about it.

    I did the Access last year.. If you have other commitments, children even p/t work it is VERY hard going.. the closer to the end you get the more they throw at you.

    I did actually rather enjoy doing that.. though I am HATING uni with a passion.. I still think it was a very big mistake!

    I did 4 subjects (if you already have GCSE maths C+ you don't have to do that, but most did that too) including 'study skills' which though vital were intensely boring!

    I did 3 mornings 9:30-12 and 2 evenings 6-9.. so I could fit it in around school runs etc. which worked well.. over 1/3rd dropped out, 10% had their long term relationship break down (inc me) and loads changed their mind on what course they wanted to do at the end.. for various reasons.. new subjects interested them more, nothing available at home and couldn't move away etc.

    But I would definitely look into it if I were you!

    Jinky.. I never got a mention either.. *sob sniff*

    Oh dear.. poor OH has his third tummy bug since meeting me... he is so very susceptible to child germs I think.. lol.. poor love.. I'll go get him a glass of water and then slap some children that should be asleep then do the list for tomorrow.. apologies it was not done earlier.. I had my connection disconnected because the September payment had not been made.. even though it is on direct debit and they had simply not requested it!!

    Greenbee - I caught a glimpse of passport issues. Don't forget, Newport is a long way to go to walk the dog, but it's something to bear in mind ;)
    I forgot about that! But I don't have either a form or photos yet :o I guess I'll have to decide tomorrow whether I'm going to take the risk, and if not I'll have to get my act together. Pity you've started working :p

    So are you going to stop off on the M4 for a break round about Newbury :D... there are a few of us in the area so we could always meet up near the motorway as you'll need a rest and some coffee at some point!

    Been to training... eaten supper... suppose I should get myself packed up for tomorrow then see whether I have the energy to do anything (oh yes, and I have to make my bed seeing as I stripped it and washed the bedding today!)

    Well it must be working for me because I'd never have bothered mopping my kitchen floor or de-crumbing the toaster today otherwise! So let's see if I can master the strikethrough system...

    Monday~ Kitchen of Grot and Dining Room of Gloom
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Declutter and mop/vacuum the floors
    [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Find and wipe the worksurfaces[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
    [STRIKE]Wipe the big appliances and units.. don't forget kickboards!
    [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Wipe small appliances and replace.. do one thoroughly.. descale or decrumb or degunge![/STRIKE]
    Clear a sticky dishevelled cupboard
    Level Three
    [STRIKE]Wipe the table and replace the cloth if necessary.[/STRIKE]
    HHI
    Clean the oven and hob.. :rotfl:

    EXTRAS for me today:
    cleaned the toilet (more than a S&S);
    cleaned the bathroom basin til it shone (again this couldn't wait for a bathroom list);
    loads of washing up - but still haven't checked the fuse on the dishwasher plug before I can call someone out;
    washing bed clothes and towels - and drying them on the line!
    washing and drying DS's duvet;
    polishing lounge bay windowsill, TV unit and piano;
    spray polishing leather sofas.
    I don't know if that earns me any stars but I'm happy.:T
    I was actually tempted to get my sons to wash the one accessible downstairs window until I realised that DH had done that yesterday - for the first time since we moved 7.5 years ago! (Does it count if we get someone else to do one of the tasks rather than doing it ourselves?)

    I'm almost wanting to do my HHI and sort a cupboard now before going to bed but that would be a little too keen for my first day wouldn't it?

    Roll on tomorrow's list. Sleep tight meanwhile!
