Why am I a teacher again?

No idea, it depresses me sometimes, it really does. HOD took my year 9 books in for a random check and I'm really behind with marking them (due to minor things like yr 11 real GCSE, yr12 coursework marking, yr 10 coursework marking, filling in all the bl00dy random data b0llocks we have to do etc etc etc) so got that to look forward to tomorrow. Done 10 hours without a break today and still not finished.

Is it any wonder I can't !!!!!!!g conceive when I'm too bl00dy knackered to actually be awake when my husband comes to bed?

Me too. I've been acussed of being racist TWICE this week! I'm really upset by it all!! Grrr... That and I know what you mean, we have a book monitoring happening this week and I've not had 5 minutes to myself to even go near them to mark.

I don't know about you but I'm soooooo much more stressed this year than last. I really don't know if I can cope if the pace keeps up at this rate! There seems no appreciation for all the effort either! Grrr...

  • Re teachers; you all have my utmost respect as I could never do it. I think (well, I hope) that I can cope with my child (to be) but not sure I could cope with a classroom full of other peoples. I believe that the parents can be worse too which only compounds the stress! A friend of mine used to teach but gave it up as she just couldn't cope with hearing parents call their (primary) children 'little fu**ers' to their faces. She just felt that she was banging her head against the wall continuously.

Sleepytiger: like lauralou says, is it a stress related 'problem'. TTC is incredibly stressful and I know that I've got myself so carried away with it that I've not really taken OH's feelings into account on occasions. All I could see was that I was OV'ing so I didnt' matter that he was shattered/ill/not in the mood etc etc.
  • Hi all,
Can I join in please?! We've just decided to start ttc, 1st time so not too sure of all the scientifics at the moment but sure I'll pick it up!

Thank you. To be honest though it's not the kids that create the stress it's everything else that goes with it. It's the lack of support the parents give when you call home to discuss the behaviour of their darling little offspring, it's the fact that we are given such a ridiculously massive workload that it's impossible to do anything properly and half my energy is spent making it look like I've done things in more detail than I have, it's the hypocracy of the more senior staff who like to tell us what we should be doing while failing to do it themselves.

I've lost both my lunchtimes tomorrow and friday to give a boy a detention who shouted really sexually offensive language across the classroom - I had to double the detention because it was that bad but it feels like I've been punished as well.

Bah, I'm okay, I'm just annoyed about AF turning up

  • If only it was just related to ttc. It's a long term thing, been happening as long as we've been together. It is related to stress about his performance, but also because he's easily distracted. Mid act he'll just stop because he's got cramp, or his nose itches or the "bed is putting him off". So I try not to stress him out but it means that I can't share my worries about this whole thing and have to carry the load in case it spooks him so much he can't fly the plane, as it were ;)

The only time its remotely better is if he doesn't "empty the tank" on a regular basis, but he's very naughty and if I go out for the evening he does it because he's "bored"!!

Oh well. If it's meant to happen and all that.

    Sorry. Rant over.
  • Is nice to end a day with happy news :j:j:j

I think I must be ovulating as I have been getting sharp pains in the right area all day and I have got the infamous ewcm, but is early for me on cd14 but I guess my cycle must be messed up from my m/c. Re checked my opk sticks and the one I did yesterday is brighter than the others so I guess that must be my surge - but wasn't as dark as the instructions so dismissed it - anyone else get this???

Anyway I wonder what I'll be doing this evening ;)

I guess I'll be on the testing list soon, I'll let you know
