retro_bluebell wrote: »No course I dont mind hun erm lets see well my eldest is 12 now  and he wasnt planned as such (I was only 20 when I fell and 21 when I had him) I cant really remember much of the symptoms as such with him as I dont think I had that many but I had a threatened miscarriage at 16 weeks (I dunno if thats a technical term but thats what the doc told me) and I bled all the way through- only spots but still very very scary, they scanned me monthly but couldnt find anything wrong but they induced me at 40 weeks in case it was a problem with the placenta- he was fine and we were both ok after so maybe it was just "one of those things?"
My second DS we tried for just over 6 months as I was desperate to have kids close together (ended up with them 17 month apart)....with him I had every damn symptom going sickness started straight away, tiredness you name it I got it... was tested for diabetes early on as I put on a HUGE amount of weight (went from 10 stone to 13 in 8 weeks!) I was carrying a lot of water though.....however (and please I really dont want to scare anyone with this this wasnt a common pregnancy), I developed high blood pressure at 20 weeks, I went into labour at 31 weeks but didnt get further than 2cm and it all stopped (had to have steriod injections then that I can remember clearly it hurt like b@@@h!) I was eventually induced at 36 weeks when my b/p went to 120/90 or something silly like that....he was born very ill and had pneumonia was given only a 25% chance of survival in the first 48 hours...he was in intensive care for a week then scbu for another 2.....turns out I had undetected group b strep (something I didnt find out until I was pregnant with my daugther but thats another story!) hes a strapping 10 year old now and bright as a button!
With my daugther I again wasnt erm trying my Oh and I were only together in the December and I was pregnant by June.....all the "textbook" symptoms with her the first that stood out was the horrible taste in my mouth and the taste of tea made me retch! It tasted like someone was giving me fat to drink haha... I was monitored all the way though with her by a fantastic consultant who got my notes from my previous hospital (I used to live in Warwickshire) thats when we found out about the GBS....was supposed to have antibiotic drip 4 hours before I had her but she came in 45 minutes so there wasnt time so she had to get them for 48 hours after birth.
I think thats why Im a bit crazy this time round to be honest as I have fallen pretty easily in the past and I just expected it to be the same again...still every month it makes me more determined to have another one!
I hope I havent scared anyone with the above Ive gone into a huge ramble again...sorry I dont have anyone in RL I can talk to about these things... hahah I realise now you were only asking for the symptoms at the beginning *oops* (maybe I should go back to my cupboard now....lol)
Thanks for sharing
Can I ask you a question about strep B? I was also strep b+ with DD2 which was found and diagnosed 'by accident' (or sheer luck) so I was put on the IV drip as soon as my waters went.
If you are strep B are you strep B for life or is it something that can come and go (like thrush for example (:o sorry, it was the first example I could think of))
Thanks in advance

Hi retro_bluebell0 -
CD11....day 2 of high readings.
Friend went back for a scan today after the hospital stay over the weekend. No heartbeat anymore so the beans finally given up. She'll be off the rest of this week, we'll have to see how she goes. All the staff in our department know now though, so it takes any pressure of me I guess now.
I really hope this side of things goes smoothly for her - I feel so sorry for her, it's been awful and happening over a LONG time now.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £1.42 Dec24

Hi Everyone,
Been a bit quiet lately as I went to rock in the corner by myself.I have to admit I took the hump a bit about the post that was meant in a lighthearted way to say 'give the oldies a chance' and I was feeling sensitive and sad etc. as we've been ttc for over a year now, with two MC to show for it and I realised that I was just touchpaper waiting to be lit by any random spark tbh so thought I best take time out to regroup.
Tinks post made me realise that there are people who need support and I can see how much everyone cares and is there to support her when she's ready to talk. So I am back with an olive branch to offer.
I've got a £10 off voucher for a Nails Inc treatment during Jan or Feb at any counter accross the UK. So first to PM me gets it as I can't justify the price of their treatments. It doesn't include the mini manicure which starts at £16:eek: but I realise if someone does pay to get their nails done it's a good discount so don't let it go to waste those of you out there with nails that are long enough to be filed - I do find the folic acid has helped mine to grow lovely and strong;)
Hi to all the newbies, hope you're all well and that the January blues haven't hit you all as hard as they obviously did for me...

Speaking of which my delightfully chavtastic neighbour decided to stand in front of his living room window with their newborn looking the picture of frickin happiness! AND he had the gall to stand waving at me:mad:My stomach has never hit the floor so fast:( Ho hum...our turn will come and we'll be better parents for it:):)
