My daughter chose to do cookery and when she puts her mind to it can make some amazing things but the mess she makes is unreal. All i keep hearing from her though at min is in a few weeks they will get to create their own meals/cakes or whatever is needed for the lesson. She passed her grades last year with maximum score for a vegetarian dish she made, all thanks to mummy and google for the recipe.

Alot of the recipe sheets they have now come with variations so you can mix and match any bits you dont like. She is lucky cos 9/10 times i have the majority of the stuff in unlike her best mate who also does same lesson, they never have the ingredients, moan at the expense and chuck the meal in the bin cos they dont eat it - are extremely fussy eaters and i nearly died of shock before xmas when they did a quiche as her mate had never even heard of it before let alone tried it

I'd never had pasta or pizza until I was 16. I didn't even know what pasta was. It took me till I was 18 before I could eat a meal of either. It was just weird!!! I was raised on CHIPS!

Ditto to this! The thought of pizza used to turn my stomach. Until 18 I had never eaten indian or chinese food & had just ventured on to italian. Then I met my OH & was introduced to all these foods, soooo yummy! I put on 2 stone thanks to it, but have now (thankfully) lost.

I was not allowed to eat anything in the house my parents didnt like and as i were raised on traditional meat and veg meals or fish and chips everything else went out the window unless i had it at school for lunch.Couldn't even have red sauce cos mom didnt like the smell of it!

I didnt realise you could get so many types of curry, assumed all had sultanas in just like school curry until i had left home, pizza and pasta were also alien to me. I think this is partly cos i have older parents that seem stuck mentally in the generations of their parents. I mean im 32 and dad is 67.

My kids picked up on the age thing when we told them i was pregnant last month. Most kids would come up with congratulations, exclamatoins of im not sharing my room but no not my kids i was greeted to = do you realise how wrong that is, how cruel you are to that poor baby you will be like 50+ when its in high school!!! oh and the other one was 'your sick, we lie in our beds at night and your at it, you are so wrong!'

Just a quick post as back form hospital now after having D and C. The procedure went ok, had a bit of a reaction to the anaesthetic afterwards whereby my pulse and blood pressure dropped very low so set off all manner of alarms and caused the nurse to say the sh*t word:eek:. They managed to set the oxygen up to max (no. 11 for all spinal tap fans!) and set me up on a drip to stabalise the situation.

Recovered now though and back at home feeling dandy. So hopefully the bleeding will stop in a week and then I just need to wait for AF to show up and then I'm back:j:j
Glad it went ok, I had AF 2 weeks after ERPC:j

Morning all, been wake off/on since 4am with bellyache and dodgy stomach (not as dodgy as usual, but 3 times since 4am :o  is more than enough for any body to cope with), also feeling a bit icky!

I did cookery at school, they were not amused that I refused point blank to go to a demonstration on how to chop up animal carcasses (I'm a strict veggie). I'm a very good cook usually (when I can be @rsed) - but only when I follow recipes :D

I rarely had takeaway until I moved into my own home, even then not that often - then DH moved in and it was 3-4 times a week after that - no surprise that I gained 4 stone in a year     Still trying to shift it now!

I'm seriously considering going vegan due to my cheese issues (only since being pg/having mc) - can't eat it for 2 1/2 weeks every month - it's eating out that puts me off the change though as it's difficult enough just being a veggie (no pub/restaurants, us veggies do not eat fish - this is a veggie person's biggest bugbear).

I begged DH to buy me a little netbook so that I could use it while I was bed-ridden every month - only problem is it has a slight delay, so causes probs playing games on FB - keys are also so small, I can't touch type properly!!
  • morning ladies how are you all? mmm all this talk of food makes me hungry! i did cookery at school but all i ever made was cheesecake mmmmmmm

Hi all, just delurking to tell confuzzled that this is also an af symptom too i'm afraid - i get this the night before af - i get night sweats too (soz if tmi - but reading this thread - i'm sure its not!) Its a new af symptom for me since i came off implanon. I remember that it was meantioned on an always ad a few years back - sorry

hi everybody and sticky baby dust to you all - i''l see you in july when i delurk properly:j
With any luck I wo't be here in July so I'll say Hi & Welcome now:D I do normally get hot prior to AF but only the night before...it's still 4days til AF is due!!! I've probably just got a bug..although I did pass out earlier:o Luckily DH caught me before my head hit the dining table but coz he was juggling his work stuff he told me he'd dropped me on the floor instead:eek::eek::rotfl:No idea why, I've been fed & watered etc may have been too hot or summat?!? Been years since I passed out, think I was 15 the last time and that was because I couldn't stand to see the vet squeezing my cats cyst and the smell was atrocious_pale_:rotfl:

Twinklie until the witch arrives in full flow you're staying on the list:p
LilDevil how much do you wear & STILL feel cold:eek: Have you got bad circulation or something?! I do, although its mild and this is why I feel the cold mre than DH(except for recently!)
Hope you're stomach eases up soon too, sounds grim!:(

Can't remember what else has been said so I'll just go & update the list xxx
