Hi Rik - Can you please tell me how much you paid for your blood tests I am looking into getting them done and wondered roughly what they cost.
    Anyone?
ladies I would really appreciate you tell me how long you bled for with your mc.
I had an op after my mc because it was a missed mc where there were no symptoms (apart from morning sickness going away:o).
I bled for about a week after the op, pretty dark and heavy.

this is exactly like my mothers story, 4 m/c before me then one between me & my sister, some were pretty late as well. They were all boys and she's since found out she carries the heomophilia (sp?) gene.
My mum lost a boy, and I only have sisters:confused: My dad's mother has 4 sisters, no brothers. Perhaps I can't have boys as well. I don't mind a girl though:o

I think because nearly everyone I know with children now has been through m/c I guess I now don't see pg as the next natural progression from a bfp which is really sad.
I still think MCs are a rare unfortunate things. Perhaps people with MCs would post on forums more than those who hadn't had one.

I lurked on these threads, but I never posted until I had mc;)

I've started Googling for the possible causes of my mc.
    I've found two.

1.The scan at 9 weeks showed abnormality to baby's heart (possible fluid or enlargement around the heart).

2.Had high white blood cell count (10500) at 9 weeks, baby's heart stopped at 10 weeks.

Wasn't taking folic acid, so that may have caused it (have now been taking folic acid etc via Sanatogen mother to be tablets since end of Aug;)).

Doctor just said it's one of those things. Prob chromasome abnormality. Next one should be OK, at least you know you can get pregnant etc.

    Any thoughts?

OK ladies - I've not too many thoughts on the m/c thang as I've not gone through it for some considerable time (I was 17, 14 yrs ago which I've never gone into with anyone) and I really have never spoken about it to anyone, even the guy involved has no idea - and I'm still friends with him now.... I bled for about a week, heavy clots for the first couple of days after the 'big bleed' and the next few were like having a really heavy period followed by a lot of spotting.....after which it took a couple of days to clear up IYKWIM

Like I say it was a long time ago so prob not best to use it as an example of how things go - in fact I'm wondering if they missed anything bearing in mind we're over a year TTC now. But then again it's far more likely I'm just really paranoid on the TTC front ;-) here's hoping xx

Fertility registrar told me for some chromasome abnormality they recommend you increase your folic acid fromm 400mcg to 5mg which I am now doing just in case, I am also now taking quarter of a aspirin tablet once a day.

I had.... 3am!!!:rotfl:Didn't get back to sleep after that!;)

I am in shock... and I've got to buy/make lots of cakes:rolleyes::rotfl:

I'm trying not to be too excited. The line came up straightaway and was a lot stronger than when I had a TLP in Aug though which I hope is a good sign :)

I really am in shock as I was convinced AF was on her way!!

    Still shaking like a leaf:o
