  • After all the comments on 8boys wanting a girl, i'm sitting watching it now.
So many things i want to say about these women and just cant trust myself to write it down.
How many wee girls are orphaned and desperate for loving homes? If these women have such a desire for girls why is this not an option for them?
Just want to slap the woman walking her boys around toys r us showing them dolls and fairy outfits!! Kinda said 'told u so' and 'serves you right' type things in my head when she got the U/S showing a boy. Well done to the hubby putting up with her!!!
I do feel kinda bad for the woman who lost her wee girl at 8months and then had the 8boys but still, i totally couldn't imagine having a 21yo kid and a new baby with a pile of others kids in between! lol

Feel really bad for all the wee boys and the hubbies - must be hard for them.

    sorry! had to vent!!

  • MJS - Know what you mean, DH and I've just watched it. I just really felt bad for the boys, they seemed really sidelined. I couldn't feel much sympathy at all for the women involved, I just really hoped that there weren't many people watching who are struggling to have kids, because they must have been really wound up by it - I know I was, and I have 1 child already and another on the way!
As for the woman who tried to make out that having 4 boys and wanting a girl was the same as not being able to have children....! The sheer selfishness of that comment took my breath away.
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)
  • Absolutely Redstar - dh was in the room at the time and was like 'is she nuts?'
Fair enough that she got the girls in the end but these shows never seem to show 'normal' type families - it looked to me like she wanted a doll to dress up and then when they showed her taking them shopping, picking clothes etc it totally reinforced that thought in my head! Did think it was a bit ridiculous that she wouldn't marry her partner till she'd had a daughter - more dressing up!! lol

My wee one is kicking like a mule at the moment! apparently my bladder has done something to upset the child and its taking out revenge upon it!
Bump seems really lopsided too - seems to be all down the right side and nothing at the left!

EA - wow I can't believe you're full term next week!! I can still clearly remember you getting your BFP on the TTC thread! (the first who did after I joined!) Only 12 weeks left for me now!

Redstar - sorry to hear you've been poorly but sounds like you're making up for it now :)

I didn't even know bath thermometers existed but will have to get one cozI think DH will find it really reassuring when he's bathing little one.

musogirl -at my 25 week appointment she asked how I was then felt my uterus (right size for gestation apparantly!) and listened to baby's heartbeat. If you are actually 25 weeks then you can get your HIPG form. I was 24 + 3 at mine so couldn't have it :(

Did a couple of bump pics tonight but I don't like them :( Bump doesn't look as big as it has all week and I just look generally huge all over. Said I was going on a diet but DH told me off lol Seriously do need to cut down on all the crap tho!

Anyway this is the best one of me at 28 weeks

Thanks for all the other replies ref thermometer, I would just do the elbow test but worry as I like my water really hot I might not be a great judge and I know OH is worried too, so for us worth it for peace of mind.

Totallly agree with you, I have my bath boiling so deffo wouldnt get good for beany.

Ive actaully tested my bath water with his thermometer and its shocking I htink it got to like 48 or something lol which is far too hot for a beany

I cant bring myself to watch that 8 boys thing I would just get too annoyed

Awww thats a lush bump pic Gill :) i've said to OH before that I am going on a diet cos I am fat, and he;s all like your not fat your pregnant lol

    Morning,

Hope everyone is ok? & you've not got snow! Our streets look really icy, hoping the snow stays away though :(

I've not heard anymore from SJ here, really hoping it's because baby is here and she's busy :D

Lots of labour vibes for Nikkit if you still need them?x

Hope all goes well at the hospital Jolene, x

Convent we have 6 bottles, was originally planning to mix breast & one formula night feed but not so sure now so prob got too many! Great news that you've been discharged from hypertension clinic :D

Som we've not got a bath thermometer, OH was taken by them when we've been shopping but I figured we'd try the elbow thing and if it doesn't work, buy one then :)

CAFC had to have a nosey at the canopy on the Ikea site - it's so cute! Are you going to fix it to a wall above the cot? I'm tempted to go get one!

Redstar your cookies sound lovely, mmm, glad you're feeling a bit better, x

Kindof well done on the £33 spend - impressive! & for the meal planning too - I always intend to do it but never do, so we end up with some bizarre meals sometimes! Hope you manage to do plenty of napping today :D

For anyone trying to get back into eating fruit - try Aldi for their super six, changes every Monday & it's always got cheap fruit :D & Netto have pineapple for 50p today!

Muso - I've found Asda good for vests, thing ours were £5 for a pack of 7. & all my midwife appointments have been like that except for ones where they take blood! I think at 28 weeks they took the measurement and felt around, though can't be 100%.

Lovely bump Gill :D You seriously don't look huge all over, you have skinny arms & legs!

Lol Kindof - my OH says the opposite 'yeah you are pretty fat', then when I said about stretchmarks he said 'can't you get surgery?' - thanks!!! I know he's trying to be funny & make me stop moaning in some bizarre reverse psychology fashion & I guess it works!

Got the midwife this morning so need to drag myself up, dying to find out which way baby is lying - he keeps shifting around and when I could feel his head down previously it's no longer there so a bit worried he's shifted into a bad position :/ Fingers crossed I'm wrong! So tired at the moment too, no need to pee in the night but I keep getting dead legs and having to switch sides in the night, tres annoying!

Will be back later anywho, hope everyone has a good day :D

I deffo plan on going to Lidl and Netto etc when beany is here and I have the pram :)

Muso I think its different at every MW, but at my 16 week, I had bloods taken, BP taken and I heard babybeans heartbeat

Then at 25 weeks and every one after that its been BP check, Heartbeat of baby listened too, feel of tummy to see which way bean is laying and belly measurement (but I know EA didnt get measured till just recently)

Good Luck at MW gymfiend :) I am there tomorrow, I hope bean is still head down for you!!!!
