i had to get rid of my dog when i moved here as they dont allow dogs, it was very sad, i would love a dog , but to be honest i dont think i would be able to cope with all the toilet training , stop chewing training etc , i think a baby is hard enough let alone a puppy

LOL oh god not looking forward to walking like I have a watermelon down there lol

My brother has just totally left me speechless, he was asking if I knew what I was going to do when I go into labour, like who will be with me at the hosp etc

And I said that I just wanted Stuart there, and that originally I wasnt even going to ring anyone till the baby was born, but now I am thinking I will ring immediate family to tell them I am going into the hosp

Then my brother text back to say he wants to be there at the hosp in the waiting room, just what I didnt want!!!!

Are family even allowed to wait does anyone know? I know I can have 2 in the delivery room with me but I just want OH but are family allowed to wait for you?

My hospital wont let anyone wait due to the swine flu , we are allowed 2 people in the room with us, the only people knowing that i am in actual labour ,my OH ofc as he will be with me, then will be my kids if they are not in school, and def my mum , as she will come to the house to wait for kids from school ,
I dont want anyone knowing as who knows you could be in labour for 48 hours and they will keep texting and ringing asking if you actually had little one or not, that will be annoying,

We cant even have a tour around the delivery suite due to the swine flu , well so they say , i think its more down to the news in the last few weeks to do with MK general maternity hospital
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec
  • At my hospital people could wait, but not sure I'd have liked it! Might your brother be at work when you're in labour? Have you pointed out to him he could be waiting a long time? Bless him for wanting to be there though!

Im saying to anyone that asks "No, we want this to be our thing as she's our baby, i would of only just given birth and would rather be left alone with OH until we are ready for guests/visitors"

Also where will he wait? I know he's your bro, but the hospital will think of it as a random stranger waiting in the reception of a labour ward.

In our labour wards they are so protected by security and locked doors, people can only come in during visiting hours. Which is 14:30-16:30 & 18:30-20:30. Unless its your OH who is allowed to be with you during labour and then between 9am-9pm after the birth.
  • Im back now, just posted some duplicate baby stuff on netmums as DH was moaning that I really dont need two cotbeds, and I cant believe they have gone already.

Now I am fixating on going to babies r us and wont shut up until he takes me!!!!

Well, back from the midwife, baby is engaged a bit and they are generally happy with me :)

Not seeing her until 40 weeks now though, so may not have to go back at all (thinking big positive early labour thoughts).

Also, got the all clear for using my tens from tomorrow, so I can get used to that :)
