Aww Kindof sorry to hear about your appointment and that you didn't sleep well last night. I agrfee with everyone els eyou should definitely finish a week early. Your boss will just have to manage without you! ANd i'd take sick leave too if you get paid for it - it is afterall becasue of your health.

Thanks, spoke to my boss today and I am off tomorrow for MW to come see me, she said maybe I should stay off friday and I was booked off monday anyway, then come in on tues, wed and thur if I can manage it, or just thursday (as I think they have some presents planned, cos she really wanted me in thursday)

Thanks GISI :) yeah I have had swollen ankles as well but its all confusing cos I know that can be a normal pregnancy thing as well lol

Sorry I dont CAFC but that is a good idea :)

CAFC - we have a place in the next village and have heard great things about it, lots of the girls at work have used them and want to get something there my self, will probs get my mum and the mil something done too. I have a charm braclet too and have two charms plus spacers so its a great idea. In fact I may go investigate while on mat leave, just to give me something to do.

Just a quick one about MW appointment then I will cook tea and catch up

It was my 34+1 appointment today and it didnt go smoothly :(

I have protien in my urine
My blood pressure is too high (140/90), she seemed really concenrened about this and has asked me to stay off on thursday to wait for a MW to come see my at home to take it again (she took it 3 times while we were there, she had me wait in the waiting room between appointments to take it)
And baby is now Breech :( he has been in the right position all the way and now he is breech :(

I asked what would happen if he stays breech but she wouldnt say.

She said if BP is still high depending on what it is she thinks I should finish work this week and not next week, I dont know what I will do about that all my dates are in etc

And I was supposed to go back for 36 weeks, but I have to go back next week now instead

I am slightly worried and concerned.

    hi kindof

please try and stay calm. MW coming to your house is so to relax you. having appointments can raise your BP so they like to do it at home where yoiu are more likely to be relaxed. (didnt always work with me as i was more nervous and anxious about them coming to see me). she will prob test oyur wee again so make sure you have a good breakfast as not having enough food can give false readings when they test your wee.

with me cos i have high BP normally 140/90 was the cut off for me to be admitted for checks. if you BP is normally fine they can go a little higher depending on your urine sample.

i guessed i might have BP issues which is why i finished work at the end of july rather than aug so i could chill and relax at home without the stress of work. and it did help.

unfortunately my BP was erratic over the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy so i did spend a lot of it in hospital.

i'm sure however it wont come to taht. if at anything you will have weekly or twice weekly checks. so you will prob see your community midwives a lot more.

if you have any questions please ask me.

most all...dont be scared and DON'T GOOGLE!!!!

Thanks Jillie, google is evil isnt it lol :)

So do you think I should do a wee sample in case she wants it?

    This is my BP record:

    120/80
    136/78
    140/75
    130/74
    130/74
    120/75
    140/90

I always think its funny when they think that being at the drs or whatever raises your BP lol well it doesnt for me anyway, like you say I think I will be worse waiting for her coming tomorrow/

Ive just had what in my warped pregnant mind felt like the best meal ever.... just gobbled my way through it, and im still a bit peckish now, but going to give it 20 mins and then go for pudding :)

If only my feeding habits every day could feel that good......

    Gherkins and ice-cream?

    Does anyone crave this stereotype??

  • My blood pressure always rockets up when I'm at the doctors/hospital. The lowest my blood pressure has ever been is when I had my booking appointment at home. I'm hoping I don't have my mums problems when she was pregnant with my brother, she ended up in hospital for ages with high blood pressure. That was 16 years ago though, so I'm hoping they aren't so keen to admit you just on blood pressure anymore. Because nothing could be more stressful to me than having to stay in hospital. eeek!

nah.. but i'd be prepared to do one.
cos it looks like its suddenly shot up and with the proteins - how much was it?? thats why they will be concerned.
its hard with the swelling as well. my hands were swollen from about 6 months and my ankles used to go massive if i was satnding for any lenght of time.

hopefully tomorrow you will be fine and today was just a blip.

    fingers crossed its a blip!
