I'm impressed by the birthing plans, last time my MW was really discouraging about having a plan, so I don't think I actually had one. Haven't really thought about it yet this time, it all feels a bit funny as I haven't seen my MW since I was 16 weeks and then it was only literally for a few minutes. I'm due to see her now on Tuesday for my 28 week check-up, but it's wierd - as I've hardly seen her, I don't really feel like I want to 'share'![/QUOTE]
I feel the same! My midwife came to my home when I was 7weeks for the first time. Texted countless times for advice and never got replies. Had 12 week scan and my midwife didn't even notice me when I went in for my bloods as I walked past smiling and saying 'hello!'. Just a blank stare! Had to got to docs at around 16weeks and my midwife wasn't there, so had to c a differnt midwife. Noticed less movements than before so she managed to reply to txt after a day and told me to go in that day to the docs. Went in and was told the midwife went home,so ended up seeing a doc and everything turned out fine. Now i've got an app.with midwife I seen when i was 7weeks,when I 'm 25weeks! Feel mad, as she's never replied to me from txts and calls in te past and as for not being there for my app. I think it's bad.
Just wish I had my midwife from my 1st pregnancy but i've moved towns since thenIs there anyway I can get another midwife? Sorry for going on ladies xxx

SS - That's exactly it! Last time I felt like the midwife was there to support and help me, this time I've hardly seen her - I saw one mw at my booking in appointment at 10/11 weeks and then a different one at 16 weeks who just took my blood pressure and told me oh well, everything seems fine, see you at 28 weeks, bye! As a result I don't really feel like discussing anything personal.

Grrr just types a massive post then lost it lets try that again shall we .....
Evening ladies hope you are all well
Bexta i had the same not exactly craving but if the stuff was there i ate it it was tomoatoes with joey and seems to be bread with this one nothing on it just dry bread but it has to be uber fresh.
MV glad everything went well for you loads of sticky bean vibes for you :-)
EA i originally had a an almost 3 page birth plan i did manage to get it down to a single page all bullet pointed midwives did say it helped but they will still ask you the same questions even if they read it.
Well morning sickness is hitting me with a vengance in the evenings now i feel like being sick constantly and nothing will stop it even my tried and tested tonic water. Something i have noticed that i have never experienced before is very greasy hair i usually wash my hair everyother day by choice as i can if i needed to leave it a week and it would still not look greasy but now it has to be washed everyother day or it looks like ive dipped it in chip fat ewwwwwwww.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
It's bad isn't it
Is this your first? If so you really could do with swapping with another midwife at your doctors. There aren't any other midwifes at mine. Don't know what to do as I want that friendly atmosphere with my midwife as I didn't have a good labour with my last. It's taken me this long to try for another one as I was worried about it and not having caring midwife is making me feel really worried.

SS i think its just the way system works now the midwives just seem so cut off and uninterested due to their work loads. After having two previously and having had lovely midwives who supported me and were there for any and all questions i was really dissapointed this time round as i hardly saw my midwife at all. Although when i did see her she was really nice. I think you can ask for another midwife but you may have to go to another surgery or you can hire your own midwife and they will be at the birth as well but its pricey i think it costs about £1200 OUCH!!:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

I'm sorry that you're having a rubbish time too.
This is my second baby - I'm still with the same medical centre but it was five years ago, and the situation seems to have changed quite a lot since then. When I had my daughter, I had the same mw each time, and they came out to my house and I was seen fairly regularly, this time around I was warned that they would only see me a few times, but I do feel a bit neglected, I suppose (isn't that petulent of me? I do feel a bit silly admitting it!).
I did mention it to the receptionist that it would be nice to see the same mw, but she just said that the 2 mws that they have are really pushed at the moment and if I was fussy about which mw I see, then I'm likely to have to wait weeks for an appointment...Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

MV - Glad it went well for you! Some people do have unexplained bleeding throughout pregnancy and it might appear that your one of them. Take it easy until your next scan ok???
SJ - The smiley removing excuse is a bit lame, i can think of millions of other smileys on here to use against newbies lol. Not that i would, but there are some meaner ones.
How am i to express my confusion now... See! That would of been a good spot for a confused smiley*sob* :rotfl:
Gym - I did take a pic earlier but with my phone and its blurry cause i have a shakey hand :rotfl:When i find my actual camera i'll take another one
My birth plan is done, is two pages long! lol. Mainly cause each point i went into detail about, i'll print it and show my MW next week and get her opinion
xmas - When i've moved house, im going to start saving money to hire an independant MW for my next pregnancy. Im doing a midwifery course when i go to uni anyway, but apparently i cant care for myself lol.
I get most of my advice and everything i need on here & in my books, i've learnt more from all of you & my books than from my midwife. I called her today to book my 34 week appointment, and her phone was off as expected (Damn! Could do with the rolling eyes smiley now!)
Right im off to google how to do a part in my pokemon game :rotfl: Im stuck!
