    Morning everyone.

Weather here is nuts at the moment wind rain and snow, just waiting on the sunshine for the full set:rotfl:

Really need to get lappy fixed I'm getting really agitated with OH, never realized just how bad some of the carp was that he watches until i have been forced to watch it lol

How long are you meant to give for a reply on ebay when the goods are faulty, sent an email within 30min of getting the cot but still have not heard anything back. And would some confirm how to do it In case i have done it wrong!!!!

I have an old nightie for the labor, it has straps so will be good for skin to skin, and can be binned if it gets in a state. Pj's for after as i get paranoid that sanitary pads will fall if i wear a nightie, stupid women at school told us a story about a girl loosing a pad when wearing a skirt and i now have nightmares about it lol

EA made the mistake once of buying ready meals from iceland..... never again they were so bad that even the dog refused to eat them lol

Someone asked about the pram sheets.. Well they are meant to be used in your pram when bubs is young but i like the sheets etc for their size, great for wrapping bubs in or using as extra thin layer when older etc and at £4 for the pack who can argue.

BH usually for me are just tightenings that are more uncomfortable than painful but yesterday i got one as i was making dinner that actually made me think OMG is labor starting but after half an hour their was nothing else and i'm still here so nope it wasn't lol

Got my HipG as well hadn't checked the bank as I've not really been out so it's been sitting about a week lol not complaining as it stopped me getting OD charges as i forgot to transfer money to cover DD's so double bonus lol

Hugs and vibes to all hope everyone has a good day.

  • I popped into dr's today to ask for MW to do my HIPG for me to collect the form later. Is it a big form to fill in? Then do I just send it off? TIA
God that's a scary thought about the pads....... especially when I have always been advised by MW's after birth to use 2 together for the first day or so when bleeding is heavier, I don't mind nighties so much but couldn't go out in a skirt with pads in lol.

    Morning all,

Happy Friday :D Hope all's well with everyone?

Lovely bump EA :) Have to say that considering you're measuring so big, you don't look massive! Have you heard back from your blood tests yet?

Grr to the midwife SJ, how annoying, especially as no courtesy call of explanation, would really pee me off!

Congrats to DH on the job CAFC that's brilliant news :) & for the pushchair too!

Hopefully this is the last of the carp weather Som so no more antenatal is cancelled. I see why they cancel, wouldn't want to be responsible for any broken limbs! :j for shelves going up Sat, makes it all seem so real when you have little things piled up in their place!

Nikkit your cot looks lovely :)

You're all making me feel unprepared! I've had no thoughts on labour bag, not bought any baby bedding and really don't know what to buy (other than sheets), have no sleeping bags in more than a 1 tog, no thoughts on what I might wear in labour (would it be weird to wear a bikini top for a waterbirth? Not keen on getting completely naked!!). Hmm...will ponder on all those points today!

Had a hoo ha with OH yesterday night, we were talking about labour & I said I didn't want anyone informing when I'm in labour, neither my family or his, and he disagreed saying he wanted to tell his family for support? Erm, what?! My reasoning was that if people know we'll be mithered, and I'd rather like to keep the experience a private one and as peaceful as possible, i.e. no constant phone calls/texts. So I told him that if he were pushing my child out of his body, I wouldn't be so selfish. Went on to then argue about the use of dummies (I don't want to use as I don't want to then try to unteach the habit, unless of course we were desperate and it seemed the only way to sooth baby), and baby cups - I was saying how I don't intend on buying him one that's not open flow, because it encourages pooling of fluid in the mouth where an open flow doesn't, he said this was stupid! I wouldn't be so anal about it had I not seen my little sis at 3 have most of her teeth taken out because the sugar in milk had rotted her teeth so badly, and my own teeth are pathetically weak, the last thing I want is to encourage this in our son. Silly man, I know I'll get my own way in the long run because I'll be the one who's around 24/7 while he's at work, but it really grates on me that he rubbishes my thoughts because they're maybe not 'the norm' & aren't what he see's his niece/nephews doing, as if others are like the gospel on child rearing.

Wow took me ages to get into MSE today, kept getting diverted! Anyone else have this problem?

Gisi - yes was refering to c/section stitches when I said worse case senario, thanks its good to know that wont be an issue, tho as said previosly hoping for a natural birth :D

Agutka - have had a stay on my ward already due to bleeding and know its warm there so will be sticking to cool comfy pjs.

Kindof - love primark but hate our local store, its so hot and never seems to have the greatest slection of stuff.

Gym - if you plan on breastfeeding then they advise you not to use soothers for the first month anyhoo, so you can use that argument with OH. Wish I'd known this sooner as I've already bought soothers. Im really lucky OH just goes with what ever I want, the only thing we disagree on is slings, he wont use one as he is scared of falling over, but wont stop me using one. TBH tho think its something his mum has put in his head cos she agrees.

Well as you can tell have taken the day off again, still not feeling 100% and had a rubbish nights sleep felt queezy and then OH was taking up lots of bed space and snoring! Sore throat a lil worse today, can anyone tell me if there is anything like soothers we are allowed while PG?

I wouldn't worry about what to wear for the birth because of wanting skin to skin after, you can just take off whatever you are wearing. All your dignity will no doubt be long gone by that stage so taking your t shirt / nightie / gown off won't be a problem I'm sure!!

I think everyone experiences BH's differently. Some have them from really early on, some only in the last few weeks some not at all. And for some they are more painful than for others. I'm sure what you get are BH's.

Well it's raining here this morning, really miserable looking outside! I'm off for a quick shower now though then off to the breastfeeding group. Hope I don't look weird cos I don't have my baby yet!!

Have a good day all x

Yeah thats true, I am worried though that I wil still care and will feel weird having Skin to skin with nothing on at all!

yeah its raining here too, it sucks!

Gymfiend I am with you thankfully OH is on board, I said I dont want anyone knowingntill he is here

Also if I can waterbirth I want to wear tankini top on top half

Same here som we have bought dummies as well and we want to breast feed lol, akthough I dont want him using a dummy I wanted some in just in case

    Hi ladies

As promised here are some pics of our little angel. :A

    http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=141697&id=546123140&saved

She is so tiny but doing really well. Had her 5 day check yesterday and didn't flinch at the heel !!!!! test at all, but protested at being weighed by peeing on the weighing machine!

She is sleeping really well and has been waking up at 1 and 5 in the night:j but otherwise sleeping really well. I'm sure this will all change tho!

ALso, if anyone is having a c-section and worried about staples being taken out- they don't hurt, some will feel like plucking a hair, but mostly there is no pain at all.

Not sure I'm ready for the parent thread yet, but will move over soon.

Hope everyone else is OK and enjoying being PG, feels odd and I am sort of missing it, but its nice to be able to see my feet again (although they are now the size of rugby balls!!)

Oooh me to SJ, i was almost crying with a BH earlier. Then i started thinking how real contractions hurt more :(

Still need to do my hospital bag, i might buy some more stuff for it tomorrow.

Any good recommendations for cheap front opening PJ's? I cant wear night dresses, feels weird to me haha.

I want something that is a thin material as when i was in the hospital earlier i was getting really hot, so i imagine the birth centre will be hotter.

never really got BH at all but contractions arent as bad as i thought they would be.

definitely go to primark, especially now as they have all the 'light material' ones. i got 3 pairs so i was nice and fresh every day. go first thing in the morning to avoid crowds, mon morn is usually quietest. or ethel austin. they have some nice ones as well.
