Ea - I alternate GP and MW too but can still book MW appointments at surgery. Are you after PJs for after birth? I have decided am gonna use a hospital gown to bith in if am not in pool and save messing up my stuff lol. Peacocks where I got my nightdress yesterday had some PJs in the sale there with front opening tops and a lightweight material, nearly got some my self but as I have the nightdress and a frtont opening top already I figured those should be enough for hospital and at home I will just lift up my top! Like you am not a fan of night dresses, but thinking worse case senario and PJ bottoms might irratate any stitches.
Been having a major sort of baby stuff in bedroom, getting ready for shelving going up on satwas going to start taking tags of baby clothes to wash tomorrow but OH wants to go to bed. Anyhoo RLT and book then am gonna sleep

Yeah PJ's for after birth, i have a t-shirt to give birth in.
I figured that the PJ bottoms wouldn't touch stitches as we'll have pants and pads on to catch the bleeding lol.
I need to sort everything out to! But i want to write it down as i sort it so i know what we have.
I cant do that, i have to call my MW direct for her appointments
Booo to Portsmouth healthcare lol x0 -

Are you meaning caesarian stitches, Som? If so I was wearing PJs the day after mine and they didn't irritate the stitches. I felt too exposed in just a nightie (except the first day, when I couldn't give a hoot and had nothing on from the waist down, just a sheet over me but thankfully my visitors didn't know that).

EA my primark is exactly the same. It makes me angry!
Right, I must go to bed. Going to the breastfeeding group tomorrow which starts at 10.30 so need to be up early again and I'm sooooooo tired!!
Night all xx0 -
Good grief. All this talk about nighties and I'm having flashbacks. It was surprisingly cold on the post natal ward - I had to wear a cardigan most of the time. Nothing touched my cs stitches as the erm overhang (the shame!!) covered all that :rotfl:. I thought I had it all figured out with colour coordinated nightwear, but in the photos I look terrible anyway! And I happened to get oedema after the baby, so my feet were swollen up like balloons and sweating like.... it was all soooo gross!
Why am I doing this again?:wall:0 -

And I'm only having home visit cos I'm having a home birth. Even with that it's only 1 home visit at 36 weeks, then back to MW @ dr's surgery at 38 weeks.
If you get that far!!

I am hoping he will be early really lol
I am all confused by the BH, cos mine dont hurt me, they just knock my breath away and I have to get it back if that makes sense? I am pretty sure that it is BH cos if its not !!!!!! is it lol
Yeah I might have to brave Primark as well, nighties and me dont mix lol
I dont know what to give birth in eek cos I want skin to skin, any idea?

I wouldn't worry about what to wear for the birth because of wanting skin to skin after, you can just take off whatever you are wearing. All your dignity will no doubt be long gone by that stage so taking your t shirt / nightie / gown off won't be a problem I'm sure!!
I think everyone experiences BH's differently. Some have them from really early on, some only in the last few weeks some not at all. And for some they are more painful than for others. I'm sure what you get are BH's.
Well it's raining here this morning, really miserable looking outside! I'm off for a quick shower now though then off to the breastfeeding group. Hope I don't look weird cos I don't have my baby yet!!
Have a good day all x0 -

Now I feel like it would be so much worse if something bad was to happen after seeing what's inside me. I guess everyone worries throughout their pregnancy though. It does make me wonder why anyone has more children in the future though. I can't say I'd want to go through this all again, although my OH really doesn't want an only child if we can have more children. Did anyone else feel like this with their first child but still went on to have more in the future?
Hi ymakesmile, yes,I felt the same. I was 19 when I had dd (11yrs ago:eek:)
and DH was 21, we'd recently moved to Milton keynes from Devon leaving all our families down there and didn't really know anyone here. I had no idea how maternity care was ran and what I should/shouldn't be doing. Although I have 7 siblings so was not to worried about looking after a baby but during my 1st pg I felt completely lost. I do remember saying I wouldn't be having any more esp after the birth:rolleyes:
But as I am from a large family which I always loved and DH has no siblings which he always hated our DS was born 2 yrs later.
That time I knew I wanted just one more and DD2 was born 3 yrs on.
We decided that our family was complete and have been very happy for the past 5 yrs enjoying our 3 lovelys.
So you can imagine my shock to find in August my pill had failed and we had no 4 on the way:p.
I think all our family and friends were as shocked as us as we'd spent the past 5 yrs declaring 'we'd done our bit' but you wouldn't believe how happy DH,kids and I are to be having these experiences again:T
