Awwwwwwwwwwww glad it went well YMS. I'm still like that with scan piccies....
Som, you just gave me a great idea for when Little L is born. I saw some photo keyrings in Hobbycraft yesterday and was wondering what I'd ever use them for, so might attempt them with a scan pic for the grandparents and great grandies (on my side)
DH said said something yesterday that really got me thinking, and a bit upset. He's the youngest in his family, has an older brother and then two older step brothers, and their parents have been together like 18 years. I told him I'd told my mum I didnt want any disney character stuff for the baby (dont ask me why, i think its because i was never a fan), and asked if his parents/family had asked if we needed anything (I dont mean to buy, but each of his brothers has had a baby already so they might have stuff they dont need) and he said his family probably wont get anything for this baby because there have already been babies born!
I just find that really sad, not for what we wont get etc, but just because this is his baby, and its like they are totally ignoring the fact that he's having a baby with me, we're the only couple married, two of them arent with the babys mum anymore, and they then called him last night to see how he was, and didnt even ask about us......
I just feel bad for him because its like whats happening in his life is being ignored because its happened before .........
I dunno maybe im just being over emotional about it...
Had an awful night last night. Bump was going really hard and contracting, had cramps, hot flushes, and thought i was going to faint, made it to the bathroom, wiped and had some like (sorry TMI) bloody mucus..... had a total panic attack, starting hyperventilating, then I threw up, a lot, that had some blood in it, some even came out of my nose, and then i had a ruddy nose bleed..... sat there and tried to be as quiet as poss cried for like 10 mins, just streaming, then wiped again, and nothing....
I put a pad in, just to keep a tab and went back to bed, had some kicks, felt a bit better, and got up today and nothing on pad.... so god only knows....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
congrats ymakesmile
Aww CAFC I would be totally !!!!ed off as well, Maybe they didnt mean it like that and didnt realise it sounded that way?

Afternoon all,
Sorry I've been missing for days again, sick of having no internet!
Congrats to JHA& welcome to baby Orit, can't wait to see pics
& come on baby PP, mummy reeeeaaaaaallllly wants to meet you now!!
& good luck for induction tomorrow Gemma
CAFC my OHs family are the same - his stepdad told us to get the carseat & clamp he bought for OHs sister when baby is born. We mentioned that it doesn't fit pushchair and he asked us why we'd be so stupid as to buy one that's not compatible!! So basically it seems as they've bought one car seat for the first grandchild, we can now expect nothingDoesn't bother me though & sadly doesn't really bother OH, think he feels like the inferior party in his family anyway so he's used to it, which I think is the saddest part of all. Try not to worry about it & look upon it as your new life with your husband & baby, they are just bystanders
All this weight talk made me take to the scales, horrified to find I've put on 1st 4lbs, hadn't put on a single pound at 20 weeks so it's taken just short of 12 weeks, eek! Admittedly a bit worried about it, as not sure how feasible the gym will be when baby's here...and I struggle to lose weight any other way, eurgh.
Your scrapbooks all sounds like a lovely idea - OH bought me a photo album thing from M&P for Christmas that I'm gonna play around with, think the first few pages will be pics of me & OH, scan pics, bump pics etc, then the rest with bits and pieces from his first year
Congrats & welcome Eviesmummy
& congrats Ymakesmile
No news here really, fell over again yesterday (I'm useless in snow!), right onto the bad elbow, so struggling even more now, doh! Was meant to go to the waterbirth evening last night at the hospital but there was no way I was going to be walking around outside to get there in all the snow & ice, so gonna have to try & make next months. Had midwife Monday & baby is still 2 weeks ahead, apparently they won't do anything til he's 5 weeks ahead though, seems crazy to me, just praying I don't go overdue with him.
Job for today is to try and find a gift for OHs mum for her 60th, ungrateful cow gave the gift we got her last Xmas to her sister for her bday, so I'm not keen on buying her anything & really struggling!! Anyone got any ideas?Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
gymfiend - just walking baby in pram will be good

Afternoon Ladies
I have found a place in Truro Cornwall ( I am in Exeter Devon) that does Private Scans 2D 3D & 4D
Early Viability Scan
Purpose of the scan: viability scan is for women who want to make sure that all is well during 6 weeks to 12 weeks of their pregnancy.
Early Viability Scan 15 minute appointment time . Includes 2D or 3D images: £49.00
Do any of you think this is a good idea???? I think have no signs or symptons and part of me would like to know that all is ok???
ThanksIf you can think it........it will happen0 -
Well i am just about to leave for the hypertension clinic and am trying to relax and keep calm. I know that my bp is going to be high when i get there so am planning on being there a while :-(
I always take my bp at home before i go and it is fine (124/80) so i am convinced i have "white coat syndrome" even though i feel like it doesnt faze me in the slightest...oh well.
CAFCgirl you are only a day ahead of me and i have not had any kicks or tightening yet. Am really wanting to start to feel my little one too. Hope you are feeling better after last night. I think if i was in your shoes i would contact the midwife just to be safe...but maybe i am just paranoid!!!!
My OH family wont really be having much to do with bump as we dont see them very often which we are quite comfortable with. My folx are the complete opposite and are soooo excited and cant wait to start spending. Dad have even offered to pay privately for the birth!!
Since my 8 week booking appoint i have put on 7lb and i am quite happy with that as i know friends who are not pregnant who have put on 9lbs over xmas!!!
Welcome Eviesmummy...cant believe we are in august for births already.
xxxBeautiful baby boy arrived 20th June 2010...Harry..weighing 7lb 4oz on fathers day :j0 -
Tink if you can afford it I'd go for it, it's not a bad price
I desperately wanted one before 12 weeks as I couldn't stop worrying!
Lol Conventgirl I'm so jealous, wish someone would pay privately for a c section for me!! Hope all is ok at the hypertension clinic
Thanks Kindof, I know it's not too bad but I'd been really struggling with weight before getting pregnant thanks to taking hormone tablets, and already weighed a good 1 & a half stone more than I did a year previousBaby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
Tink - I would also say go for it if it's going to put your mind at ease. I had an emergency scan at 8 weeks but I don't know how I would have got through to 12 weeks without, as like you had very few symptoms.
How far along are you again?Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0
