EA - with regard to beding the quantaties you need will depend on how often you'll get around to washing, some where between 2-4 sets is good. For your crib you'll need bottom sheets and then you can either go with a couple of sheets and blankets and/or sleeping bags. The amount of sheets and blankets you need will depend on your room temp (more info here). The same applies to your cot bed, thats where sleeping bags are handy cos they dont need to fit the crib/cot and so she can carry on using them when she moves over. You deffinatley dont need quilts/duvets or pillows (tho you may want to buy them now and put them away if you want matching sets) as there not recommended till 12 months plus. Bumpers are optional too, there more decorative unless your going for the long version and can only be used for a short time. HTH x

    Hello everyone
Sorry I went AWOL-Hello to all the new little angels and congrats to the new bfp's.
Im booked in for an early scan next tuesday ( 6+2) because we had a bit of a scare earlier-did I mention it? Had to have my HCG checked as GP wondered about ectopic. But it did double so the nurse said to come in for scan just because.

I too, used Clomid (third cycle) and I have cerebral palsy. I still have my booking with the fertility consultant on the 26th of January. But I'm a bit confuzzed now-I dont know if my gp referred me to MW because she was so busy rushing me to hospital to get hcg levels checked. Also, the hospital I went to is not the same one as where the fertility consultant is. And the one where the consultant is, is where I want to have the baby because a) they know me better as been with me all through since my mc and b)they have a better rep regarding hygiene.

Hey! My first "Im pregnant and confused" waffle-thanks :D
I'm still not at ease yet despite all the sore boobs and stretching Im feeling-I cant believe how terrified I am of this scan.

    Congrats Metravil :)

My docs took my word for it, I made an appointment with the midwife at 8 weeks, then got my 12 week scan appointment through the post

Me and OH have totally fallen for this pram http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Travel-and-Pushchairs/Travel-Systems-and-Pushchairs/Travel-systems/Graco-Quattro-Tour-Travel-System-in-Ziggy-Zebra%280028424%29 thanks so much for posting the link, I want to buy the footmuff as well though Ithink

The other one I really like is

    http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Travel-and-Pushchairs/Travel-Systems-and-Pushchairs/Travel-systems/Graco-Quattro-Elite-Travel-System-in-Lemongrass%280069998%29

They had them both out in my local toys r us so it would def be a good idea to go and have a good look at them, see them in the flesh so the speak :)

For that price you can afford to get a foot muff as well and it will just have cost you the same as the kiddicare one.

Right question. What exactly do i need for bedding?
I have a crib and then she's going into a cot bed.

Can someone that knows make a list for me please? Its totally confusing me what with all these bottom sheets, top sheets, etc lol

  • OOoh congrats Maz!! :j:j And Hello Evie, what a lovely name you have

Metranil, I saw dr first of alland he referred me to MW, didn't check my BF result as home tests are just as reliable as their tests these days I think.

Maybebaby punctual baby labour vibes for you!!

Mothercare was good today but amazingly didn't buy anything!!!We looked through all the clothes we have before we went and realised we really don;t need anything apart from maybe 1 or 2 more actual outfits in newbornsize (rather than sleepsuits and vests) We have lots of sleepsuits and vests in newborn, 0-3 and 3-6, and quite a few outfits in 0-3. We also have socks, boottees and scratch mitts, and a few hats.

Did get another pair of maternity leggings in Peacocks though as leggings are the only really comfy thing to wear now, and also a button down front nighty for BF once baby arrives. Had a nice hot choc in some coffee place too which was nice so a good trip out, and better for not spending money unnecessarily.

Oh and in asda this morning I bought a pack of 2 flat pram/moses basket sheets and a pack of 2 fitted pram sheets. MIL has bought us pack of 2 cotbed sheets too.

Only thing I think we really need to buy now is the mattress for the cotbed, although as baby won't be in it for a couple of months there's no rush really.

Next thing to do is pack just-in-case hospital bag, then get some nursing bras once I turn 37 weeks.

Other than that I *think* we are ready for baby to arrive
  • EA- you asked about baby bedding and I don't think anyone has replied yet. The things we use are-

-Sleeping bags- we have three so always one spare in case of nappy explosions or sick! The best two we have are both from Primark.
-Fitted sheets for Moses basket- again three is fine.
-Two fleecey blankets- useful for naps or if he falls asleep before he has his sleeping bag on and we don't want to wake him.
-One cellular blanket which we put on top of his sleeping bag if it's really cold as I worry that putting a fleecey blanket on top would be too hot.

We also have sheets and blankets in a bigger size for when he is in his cotbed but I imagine he will still use sleeping bags then too.

Hope that helps. Matalan are good and cheap for baby bedding.

Tinkwings - don't worry it's totally normal to feel like that. I had very few symptoms until 8 weeks when I started getting nauseaus in the evening, but even then it wasn't as bad as I expected.

I had a scan at 8 weeks so new baby was ok at that point but was still mega worried up until 12 week scan, and then again until 20 week! I'm 22 + 3 now and finally enjoying being pregnant (although the hormones are really getting me down!) It
