So glad you and bubs are ok Some - you had us all worried! :)

I've just spoken to my boss and I'm taking all next week off as sick so no more work for me until Tues after xmas - feel so relieved. Boss is going to meet me there on my first day back to walk the floor with me and ease me in gently which will be nice as well

JHA I think nail varnish is ok unless a waterbirth? Or at least, I know it's not ok for a waterbirth :) & eek, only 2 more Fridays makes it sound mega close, Orit will soon be here :D

Som so glad you are home & ok, make sure you take it easy, xx

Gill your boss sounds brilliant :j

Our sons heartbeat sounds like galloping to me, but midwife when I last saw her asked if I knew what I was having, said yes, and she said 'a boy?' based on the heartbeat  Maybe galloping & trains sounds too similar to me :o

I feel a right mean cow, OH rang me on his lunch & asked me to drop his suit at the dry cleaners, as someone had spilt sauce on it last night so I had a moan at him. Wouldn't mind but I only took it about 2 weeks ago, and he's only worn it a couple of times since  £15 wasted, grr. I really need to sort my mood out, he's off out tonight so I can fester and pity myself a bit then be normal again tomorrow :o

eta: OH and I were talking about dummys the other day as we were shopping & he was looking at them, they're not a necessity are they? I know neither me or my siblings have them, but he seemed to think everyone should have one and I was in some way deprived

Yay Som, glad you're home and all seems well so far. Could've just been a tiny bit of the placenta coming away or something?? I seem to remember that happening once on A Baby Story :p. But sending healthy vibes your way for no more bleeds. And take it easy, missy! Let OH pamper you rotten :D.

Som glad you are ok. It's your first isn't it? I didn't think there was ever a chance of a 6hr turnaround for your 1st, unless it's changed.

Maz am so jealous, let me know what it's like, mine is tomorrow!!

Wasn't too uncomfortable but absolutely pointless in my case!

Midwife was lovely - went in & she explained everything & different scenarios depending on how things are going already & how this can affect discomfort level etc. Then she checked me & baby over generally first (which i was grateful for cos it did relax me).

Then came out the gloves.... :rotfl:

Only afterwards did she mention the scenario where everything down there is so far from being ready that they can't even perform a sweep!! Because thats what happened in my case.

So now i'm sat at home with just the christmas tree lights on feeling sorry for myself & wanting a hug & some chocolate & not having either!

It's just starting to feel like it's never gonna happen. Everyone i speak to, including the midwives, seem to be surprised when i say i haven't felt anything - no twinges, no pains, no backache, no show, no BHs, no lack of energy, no extra energy. Honestly i'm half expecting someone to just go 'hang on a minute...' & pull a cushion from under my top!!

    xx

if you did get a base , i think you need to make sure your car has isofix ,, but you def dont have to have a base , the base stays in the car and you can click and unclick the seat instead of putting seatbelt all around it , if no base you secure it by seatbelt when you get it in and out of car ,

just going to catch up now

eta : glad you ok som ,

LABOUR VIBES beenie and maz ,

done boys bedroom took absolutely ages , 3 bin bags full of rubbish and bin bag of clothes they no longer wear or fit
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec

Omg maz i didn't even realise there was such a scenario

I am the same as you, no signs of anything happening and especially when i was at my due date like you there was zilch, and the mw's always seem surprised that i've had nothing. But you do still have plenty of time for things to happen on their own i am sure they will, it's unlikely we'll BOTH be induced, odds-wise :D

I will let you know how mine goes tomorrow afternoon. I'm trying to prepare myself by doing some positive research on induction, but no matter what i read i really don't want it
