Kindof - thanks for the info re veet, may give it a go, find shaving a lil itchy, usually just opt for a trim (sorry tmi).

Beenie - hehe , am sure bubs is fine and no extra limbs, was more worried about my irratation, that sounds so selfish now. grr at your cat, I know what there like for finding cosy places to sleep, without a door tho your gonna have a tough job! Can you turn it up side down when your not using it?

SJ - that sux about your antenatel, am dreading mine now. I dont even know a lil bit about them, and I know both me and OH were really hoping for lots of info on feeding, bathing etc neither of us have any experiance of babies and feel a lil green about it all.

Som i use the sensitive one, even though i don't normally have sensitive skin, and it only stings if some strays to the more delicate bits and i leave it on too long, but only then it stings for a day or so when peeing :o Actually maybe i should do that on purpose this time to complete the stinging experience for when i have stitches again:rotfl::rotfl:

good idea i didn't think to do that with the basket, i've just put the monitors and stuff in there along with a towel to make it less comfy for the lil scrote. Am surprised she didn't sleep in the crib, but i did put a giant leopard teddy in there maybe she was scared of it :D

Well the first session was about labour and pain relief and the next (and last) session is about feeding and other post-natal things (not sure exacly what!) So I am hoping that one will be better. Mainly just becasue I've done so much research on the birth and pain relief and things with wanting the HB it was just stuff I'd found out for myself.

Owwie am half expecting my waters to go pop any minute my bump feels sooo pressured and i'm having the kind of cramps you'd have if you had a stomach bug or were constipated. I can't remember from DS how similar that feeling is to labour pain lol. Nothing regular though, just feel like i need the loo all the time and i seem to remember constantly saying i needed a #2 when labour started with DS, presumably cos of him engaging so much :rotfl:. Think she's just reminding me she's there lol.

thanks for the info about veet; the sensitive one is always on offer in bodycare for 99p! :)

Beenie I did worry about our cat sleeping in baby's bed, but I thought to conquer this we'll get a moses basket for the cat as they often seem to be 99p locally on ebay :p Though no doubt the cat will still just want to climb in our bed & make himself comfy on the electric blanket. He does seem to love curling up behind my knees or even by my tummy at the moment! I can't imagine that he'd attack the baby or anything, he's quite timid since having the snip months ago. <insert crossing fingers smiley>

It's interesting to read about antenatal classes, I haven't had any info though I looked on the nct or whatever its called site, and there were classes for due April, May, July & Aug... but not June! Oh well, I'm sure with all the tips & advice on here I'll be fine! I'll just find some clips on youtube or get a dvd... ;)

I really must get on & do some Christmas cards, got another 2 in the post today and I haven't even started with the elf box for Postpals yet!
  • Beenie when i had DD1 i had my cat and i was worried about it and i brought something similar to this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Clippasafe-Pram-Cat-Net-Universal/dp/B0006H4PFI (it can go on a moses basket too) turned out to be a waste of money as the cat never went near her anyway but it was cheap enough just to have as a precaution!

    Morning all,

Fbb glad all's going well with Toby, and well done on the breastfeeding sounds like he's doing brilliantly :j

Lou sorry I've missed you but lots of luck for today, hope everything goes perfectly & can't wait to hear about baby, xx

Gemma glad you're home now, lots of stay put vibes for baby!

LL hope you managed to get sorted yesterday?

Congrats on team pink JHA! Enjoy buying lots of beautiful girly things :j I love the name Seren...Safia too, in fact you've got lots of lovely names there :) & so pleased that it looks like you can have your vb :j

    Lovely bump Kindof :)

Lots of labour vibes for Always, xx (p.s. hope you get your SIL & BIL's presents sorted - have you already bought?)

Beenie this really made me laugh: "Hmm actually, Sat or Sun aren't good cos X Factor final. But if it's a weekday it means i'll be on my own in the hospital." :rotfl::rotfl:

One of our cats is very keen on the moses basket - and also the baby chair, oh and the cot! We've got a cat net that you can put over the cot, not sure if I could somehow fashion it over the moses basket  They can open doors so sadly, shutting the door doesn't do any good...not sure what I'm gonna do with them really! OH keeps telling me he's going to get rid of them, but he knows I'd leave with them if he ever tried it :rotfl:

Ooh OH has taken Monday off work so he can come to my midwife appointment :j He's coming both because he wants to hear heartbeat & because I want to discuss place of birth, he knows I just quietly back down when they start talking so said he'll come to try & back me up :j

We're gonna aim to finish all the Christmas shopping after the appointment too :) Anyone got any ideas on what gift you could buy a 5/6 year old boy? (he's either just turned 5 or just turned 6 ), preferably £10 or under? Same for a 3 year old boy?

Right must get up, todays job is to get to B&Q for a finger plate for the light switch in the nursery - managed to paint over my mess yesterday & it looks ok now :o then I'm going to attempt to make a stew  Never done anything of the sort before so should be interesting!!
    Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j
  • morning!

beenie - ooh exciting, I will let you off if you go before me, after all aren't 2nd babies much more punctual than 1st ones?! I did have a few contractions overnight but not so many it was worth timing them or anything, hoping that this means this afternoon's sweep will really get things going.

we picked the 3 cheapest things each off the lists for sil and bil - mean or what but if they do send a list (complete with internet links!) what to expect, eh?! Oh and I only got stuff we could get through quidco :D

gym - with the boys presents, I think I'd get craft stuff but then I can't stand anything commerical / plasticy. You can get quite a lot for a tenner too, I noticed wilko has a lot.

always, i'm still here and no more signs so i think the cramps really were from t'other end after all :rotfl:

I'm at the mw this afternoon, i'm 39+5 now - will she check my cervix or anything, or only if i've had any water breakage or something?

PP that's a good idea about the net thing. Alternatively i could have roast cat for Xmas dinner :rotfl:

Hi always- at least I'll have xmas to occupy me for some of it! I have worked or been at college since I left school and have never had so much time off before so will take a bit of getting used to I think.

Had a lovely chinese last nigth round the ILs, but was so tired by 8 was ready for bed. MIL has offered to do the washing and ironing for me, but will try and keep on top of that myself, will get OH to empty and load the washing machine and make beds and stuff so I don;t do any heavy lifting.

My bloomin nipples have been leaking since I went to bed last night, have stained the bed sheets and my top is soaked already! def need to crack open the breast pads now.

Beenie- glad u r still with us, I think bubs is just waiting for you to get coompletely organised before making an appearance!
