PP - It is an old welsh name which means "brightsea" i know because a famous department store in wales used to have the same surname and oh picked it from that and put it on his baby boy name list:D

    congrats on team pink jha!

nikkit, hope you are feeling better now.

gemma - 7 weeks of maternity leave before little one is not so bad and like you I finished early for my / baby's health. am in my 8th week now tho, think thats enough!

not as grumpy as earlier - went out and bought our first ever christmas tree, dp had only ever bar one year had fake ones so we now have the lovely tree smell in the lounge :) and the demonic curtains - all 5m width and 2m drop of them - are hung. One of the hems has gone seriously wrong but I'll sort that when we decorate properly after the new windows / rewire / replumbing, just good to get the pink flowery old lady ones down.

SIL has sent an email through with her and BIL's present lists - anyone got a couple of hundred quid to spare ?! I really really really despise present lists, ideas yes but to expect everything on the list, no, think it's bloomin (that's the polite mse word, not what I really think!) rude. Whats more, when exactly do they expect us to go shopping?!!!

at least we are guaranteed one birth announcement tomorrow - GOOD LUCK LOU!

    evening ladies

Gemma - what an awful time you've had. Really glad things are ok for you now - make sure you do take it easy tho!

Nikki - big hugs, sounds like you need them.

JHA - congrats on team pink :)

Lou - best of luck for tomorrow - very exciting.

I've had a bad day again today, woke up feeling poorly and tired and really didn't want to go into work. Had to go in but decided to take a days hol tomorrow. Rang my boss to ask/tell her and she suggested I think about dropping to 30 hours a week instead of 37.5 while I'm struggling. Ended up getting upset on the phone (damn hormones!!) so she's coming to see me on Tuesday so we can talk about it properly. Need to have a good think (and look at finances!) between now and then so that I can decide propely. I think part of the problem is that the last 2 weeks I've been off on a friday instead of a thursday so might see how next week goes when I'm back to normal.

Like som and nikki I get really frightened about post natal depression as well. Had depression when I was younger so do worry I might be a bit more susceptible and feel closer to it that I have for a long time. Just seem to have waaaaay to much going on in my brain at the moment. Think I need to make some lists to get it out of my head and onto paper. I'm stressing about my scan on fri then a hospital appointment I've got next week to get results of the aspiration I had done on the lump on my thryroid gland, so will hopefully feel better after that.

Sorry to whinge, just don't really feel I can talk to anyone in RL about it as I don't want to worry them/they've got a lot more problems than me lol

Hi Fattybooboo  How are you both doing?

Hi Gymfiend & Aless02. Yep all is good with us thank u. First week or so went well, then we started to have a couple of really restless nights and I thought oh no!! But except for Toby having a bit of a tantrum session in the evenings these days, he is only waking about twice for feeding during the night, which I can cope with. The breastfeeding is going well, he weighed 9 and a half pounds on Monday so he had put on another 1lb in a week, which they and we were really pleased with!! I am now noticing he is feeding on me for longer at a time which is good, which I guess is where he is growing and can take more milk at a time. So hopefully as this goes on, he will start to go a bit longer at night. He is such a cutie, he is really alert now and is following our faces as we move about, and making little cooing noises, aww :)

Hope all is well with you too, sorry I havent caught up so appropriate vibes to all xx

  • Jha congratulations!!!! So pleased you found out too, even if it quite close to the birth now!!!

Gill hope you can work something out with your hours. Hope you are feeling better now.

Always glad you are less grumpy now! And enjoy your real tree! We have decided we are going to have a real one next year.

So been to ante-natal tonight - waste of time!!!! Didn't learn anything at all and MWs were rubbish at presenting the information, not to mention it being about 100 degrees in there!

Is veet safe to use in PG? I havent used it for ages am worried it could just make anything going on down there in birth even more uncomfy.
I've been using it throughout, as well as hair dye and we're okay. Well, at least i'll be able to let you know if baby comes out with extra limbs :rotfl:

Jha, all your names are nice but i think my baby will be blonde and fair and some of those names suit darker skinned people to me  I quite like the name Leila but it means dark beauty or something and the only girl i've known with that name was half greek or something, so i dunno

always, get a move on i don't want to end up having mine before you after all this time :rotfl:

I have been convinced for weeks i was going to go early but baby is being well behaved cos i still have some little odd jobs to do before i'll be totally ready so i think she's waiting lol. I honestly thought i'd have had her by now, but think i might go overdue after all  I'm thinking Sunday would be a good day for her to come, but then i don't want her bday to be on the 13th and i'm not even superstitious  Hmm actually, Sat or Sun aren't good cos X Factor final. But if it's a weekday it means i'll be on my own in the hospital. Well tbh i will be either way if friend isn't around, so i hope that doesn't panic me too much and make stuff go wrong. Will have to find out when her next day off is and have a word with bump :rotfl:
