  • Another cup of RLT for me! Just done my pelvic floor excercises too for the first time in a while. I really hate doing them as it makes me feel funny but going to start trying extra hard to remember to do them now (including every time I have a RLT as that might eb a good way to remind myself!!)

Thanks guys, thing is i don't want a home birth, it's not my ideal at all. But the way things are i feel like it's the only viable option. I'm sure there are pet sitting services available but not within my bills budget, and it doesn't solve anything as far as DS goes, at least if i was at home i could keep him off school although not ideal for him to be there seeing that at his age, if he was younger it could be ok...

lou - hope things are moving for you and it's not a "false alarm". I was like this on Sunday evening, really bad lower back pain and cramps and was getting excited but it'd all gone in the morning - figure maybe it was just the little man moving down a bit more. He's definitely been moving a lot less than before but still enough to let me know he's ok in there - dtd in siberia (also known as our bedroom!) last night and that started him off with hiccups!!! Talk about passion killer!

beenie - maybe talking with the midwife will find another option for you? Does your sister get any sort of paid emergency / dependants leave at work - maybe that'll solve the problem if you go into labour while she's working or find you need to go to the hospital?

not a lot going on here - inlaws are insisting they drive me to the hospital later, bit bonkers really as they have to drive past the hospital to pick me up but conceded this one as if the MW decides it's worth doing a sweep it might be a bit uncomfy sitting on a bus at school kicking out time when it takes twice as long.

remind me next time I am pregnant not to move house - have another builder coming round to quote for the gas, electric and bathroom at lunchtime. som - funnily enough when you were asking about the windows, DP and I were going through those quotes and need to order them this morning! they are not the cheapest quote but the company that seem most professional and recommended and the gas and electric quotes are coming in slightly under what we'd budgeted so overall ok.

beenie - I knew there was something. OK, so it's unpaid but it does offer your sister job protection and if she made them aware now then at least they've got warning. Thinking about it, when my grandma was ill even though she lived 250 miles away, I stayed with her for 10 days when she came out of hopsital, I argued she was a dependant so I was entitled to compassionate / emergency leave as no-one else in the family could do it.
  • Always your signature just made me giggle - at first glance it looks like you already have 28 children :rotfl:

Glad the quotes are coming in ok and good on you for managing to be so organised with it all when you are so close to having bubs. Think I would have had some sort of breakdown if I'd had to do all that!

Beenie sorry I can't offer any other alternatives. Is there no way at all you could ask your mum to look after DS? Surely she should be able to see it's one fo those real emergency situations where you really have limited options

I wish I lived nearer - I would come and look after your DS and pets for you

No not yet :( Asked MW about it yesterday and she was saying that all her ladies are complaining it's slow at the moment. The 2-3 week turnaround of a couple of months back has gone back to them being unorganised and slow according to her! She also said a few people had mentioned they didn't get the letter, just the money into their bank.

Thanks always, i will ask her if she's prepared to speak to her employer. She has only just started there so i'm assuming she's within trial period and might be worried about rocking the boat.

SJ, my mother is a total waste of space, chances are she'll be drunk when i go into labour, and me and my sis would never let her have the kids in her house as she'd leave them to entertain themselves while she was up on her computer!! She really is like that, i hate her.
This is 2 weeks of her life she could be a good person/mother and care for the people she brought into this world, but she is a pathetic selfish lazy waster. She does nothing all day, and although she's done a bit of painting for me, she did it because i gave her no choice and went to collect her!! The way she spoke to me the other night after having me chasing the area hunting for my DS was bang out of order and any decent person would apologise but she hasn't even been in touch and she knows i need to move my furniture back into my bedroom!!

    /rant

ha! you're not the 1st one to say that, must think better about my signature when I next update it!

getting the quotes is the easy part - not looking forward to the work, especially the rewire as it's going to be soooo messy. Think me and the little man might go visit his abuela for a couple of weeks - what's the earliest he can fly I wonder?! Which reminds me I keep meaning to find out about car seats and planes - I know airlines will let you take a buggy as extra luggage allowance and just collapse it at the gate for you but if I "accidentally" left the car seat on travel system, would I be able to get away with that too to avoid paying for checked luggage???
  • Aww Beenie that's a real shame she can't be there for you when you need her most. Really hope you manage to get something sorted though.

No idea about the luggage always but just seen this on babycentre
A newborn can fly at a week old if it's absolutely necessary, but it's better to wait until he's at least 4 to 6 weeks if you possibly can. The worry is all that recycled air on the plane. Babies are so vulnerable to germs during their first month, they're bound to pick up some stray bug if they're cooped up with dozens of strangers breathing recycled air.

So I'm looking at placing an order with H&B - got arnica, EPO, calcium and RLT, is there anything else I need?!
