Haha, well that ruined my plan of just hibernating through the 3rd trimester!
I also need to purchase a V shaped pillow. Theres one on simplybe for £20, in the 'pillow' section lol.
I imagine its cheaper cause its not in the maternity section :money:

I got one cheaper on ebay. Can't remember how much but less than a tenner I think.

gym - what a rotten day for you, hope things look up from now.

aless - hope you get another appointment sorted

nikkit - yay for good consultant appointment! normal growth scans are lovely aren't they?!

my day / week / month been scuppered by my midwife check this morning and am now on "rest" following unexpected lunchtime monitoring in assessment unit as bp shot up. mind you at 38+4 with a history of high bp, it could have been a lot earlier so shouldn't moan too much. Except at the sky bloke - the dvd scart is not connected and it definitely was last week and I can't shift the telly to fix it so crap afternoon tv instead til dp gets in. on the bright side, ultimate :money:as no strolls round shops and still on the unsecured wireless connection so no interwebs shopping!

Am I the only one who found maternity bras to be more uncomfy? Well it's because I have massive (.)(.) so anything without a wire is practically useless...am going to buy nursing bras after 36 weeks so hopefully those will be better!!

I solved that problem by tightening the straps so tight, its almost lke having a normal bra on lol.
I usually have to have wired bras to, i see some lovely maternity bras i want, but i cant purcahse them for another 11 weeks :( lol

Not going to moan though because OH and family are all running errands for me today / or working hard at work so i am just going to toddle off and do the housework whilst it (the darling halfpint:rolleyes:) is asleep:p
Hugs to those having a carp day / struggling with the weather - the weather is horrendous here.

Thanks guys, made me feel a bit less like a dramatic pregnant woman :o

Mr AB, when I was done with the midwife I popped into my parents house and my dad went nuts & made me write a letter of complaint! Feel awful and will try not to send it, especially as I might have to see her again, but will definitely complain once baby has arrived and I can avoid her. Judging from the receptionists reactions, they regularly get complaints about her anyway so not sure what good my complaining will do! Bless them they were very sweet, I've been at the surgery since I was a kid & they know my family really well & they promised they'd call me before my next appointment if she was standing in again so I can reschedule :p

EA I'm high risk because of having a pituitary tumour, think I've mentioned it before. You'd never know it though, they don't treat me with any special care or attention!!

Something else the midwife did to pee me off (honest, I'll stop ranting after this!), I asked for my HIPG form and she said no, you're not 25 weeks (yes, back to that debate), to which I said fine, as with the MAT B1 form, I promise not to send til Friday. She got really difficult with me insinuating I was some sort of tramp for asking as I ought to have money if I'm having a baby and that I could wait til my 29wk appointment, dear god, how is this woman a midwife?? I was so angry I almost lost it, I actually don't need the money at all, but that's irrelevant, as we're entitled to it

Ok, I promise that's me done ranting, will get over it now!!

LL glad to hear you still feel rubbish :D

Mermaid I've no recommendations as far as trousers go, but could some bump bands help for a bit til you can fit in your old stuff?

Aless I've not bought a maternity bra yet either (25 weeks), really don't want to give up underwiring, dread to think how I'd look

JHA glad to hear halfpint has been training you up for sleepless nights :p
    Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j

Gisi, I've just read your birth story and it's nearly identical to mine! Except I got to 6cm :p

I must have some of that 2nd trimester energy I've heard about. Spent all morning tidying and cleaning. Shame there was a toddler closely following my tracks and undoing everything :cool:

Has anyone got any recommendations for work trousers in early preg? I had no probs with DD and was in a normal size 12 well into 7 months, but already my trousers are too tight - have wrecked the fasteners on 2 pairs already :o

I swore by bump bands with my normal trousers until I finished work last month - they really do hold up unfastened trousers http://www.newlook.co.uk/1647481/164748199/ProductDetails.aspx. I was a 12/14 and ordered M/L from new look although could probably have got away with a S/M. Actually am wearing one today as my maternity jeans won't stay up as I've lost weight during my pregnancy and the size 14 maternity jeans I thought I'd end up filling and some are now like sacks!

    gym,

It's my opinion that if complaints aren't made officially, there is nothing the surgery can do about her. If people just make the receptionist(s) aware in conversation, I'd doubt they'd make the management aware and even if they did they wouldn't be able to evidence what the complaint was.

It's not my place to tell you what to do, but if someone is incompetent, then action needs to take place. I'd be up in arms if the MW was like this to Mrs AB and would tell her there and then!!

As the receptionists are going to make you aware if she's still there at the time of your next appointment, you'd have no reason to see her again.

The issues about the forms/money (which you're entitled to) on adds more weight to my opinion that you should put that letter in the post.
