ok ladies
Ive actually found a list of questions I'd written down to post up on here!
1: Perinneal Massage - What is it, does it work, when should you start?
2: Raspberry Leaf tea, EPO and Arnica - There was a load of talk about them about 20 pages back but im so rubbish at the search function. Pretty much the same questions as No 1.
3: Nappies - I've got 54 newborn nappies in a box set with disposable change mats, and wipes from Boots, Huggies or Pampers cant remember which, cost circa £6 (mum bought them for me on my birthday LOL) so on the basis of having normal size baby should I now just start buying size 2's?
4: Need to start buying all the boring stuff now. What do I need in changing bag? I've got the actual bag so thats progress.....
5: What will I need for mine and baby's hospital bag. Ive got some bits already but just want to print out a definitive list?
6: Feeding - This is where I get really confused.
I would like to express breast feed. Ive got a TT breast pump, how many bottles would you recommend? Teats same thing really? I've got a bottle warmer and a cold/microwave steriliser, what solution/tablets do I need?
I think thats about it for now.....
opps no
7: Cot & moses basket sheets - how many do you recommend I get?
8: Muslin squares - same thing really....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
JMF Congrats and yey for a fantastic scan!
CAFCGirl on the subject of paint we picked up paint yesterday and we always get the Wilkinsons stuff. Our front room is done with it plus the babys room will be and I'm happy with the stuff. Think it cost about £10/11 for a normal size pot of matt emulsion.0 -
Huge get well soon vibes to baby Elliot, love to Kindof and Mr kindof.
Fishcake- Please don't feel let down with yourself. This situation is beyond your control, and I know you really didn't want to be induced but try to be kind to yourself about it. Bubs had other ideas and if your waters have gone then he needs to be born hun. It's so easy to say but it will get to a point where it will be irrelivent. I wanted a homebirth with DD, and wanted to do it without drugs if poss. I ended up going 16 days over so they counted me as high risk as a HB, I insisted on trying anyway and when my BP was slightly raised they really put the pressure on me to transfer. I was really upset. and I didn't have a nice experience with a mw in the hospital which compounded it for me, but after a couple of months I fforgave myself. Looking back I wish I hadn't wasted those newborn days feeling such a failiure for something that was in essence beyond my control. I am gonna try again for HB this time as I still hate hospitals- poss even more than before, but if it doesn't work out then I feel I am prepared this time. Seriously be kind to yourself, you have grown a human being inside of you- you are amazingHow they are born will end up being such a tiny part long term.

Congrats & welcome JMF, what a lovely surprise
Fishcake, try look on the bright side, at least your body has got halfway there by itselfI'm honestly dreading being induced, but I know the end product will be worth it so that's where I'm trying to focus x
:T for Izzy being head down Moosmummy& :j for the slimming world, that's fantastic!
:j for hearing the heartbeat Bunny, fab isn't it
CAFC our Wilkinsons had loads of paint on offer the other week - never used it so dunno if it's any good though! We usually get the Homebase stuff in the dark grey tins, they do really vivid colours which I like
Bag list, this is mine (can't find the one for baby, must've deleted it):

OH has booked his leave to start on Friday (something to do with not losing bank holidays?!) which I'm v excited about, can't wait to have him at home with me so I can make him do all the jobs he promises to do but never does!! We've got blinds to go up in the kitchen, a garden that desperately needs attention and a shed for emptying, lucky boyIn all reality, we'll prob spend the day out doing something interesting instead and the jobs will go back in the elusive tomorrow pile :rotfl: Been looking into honeymoon/holiday options today, gutted to find the hotel we liked in Italy has gone up from about £3k for the 3 of us to nearer £6k  Madness, so dunno what to do or where to go now, anyone got any suggestions? OHs family have been mithering to find out what's going on, am I weird for not wanting to recount the MW visit in detail to them all?! Have told them a white lie, in that I said I wasn't sure about induction yet and would let them know early next week what I decide, so now hoping we'll go in Sunday and things will be quick so I can keep it secret til he's here
Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
CAFC - nappies I have brought about 9 packs of sz1 nappies with about 25 on average in a pack and have now started to buy sz 2 and 3 nappies bearing in mind from experience of maternity nannying and working as a nurse on childrens ward etc sz 3 are the ones will prob use for a little while.
Baby I night nannied for last night is 7 pounds was 6lbs at birth and has been in sz 2 since birth the mum just stocked up on that size and baby was fine in them all be it they come up to her chest and we folded the top over - no leakages with mega poo - so guess what I am saying is if you see some sz 1 on offer buy them (ie- asda 48 pack for £1) otherwise stock up on sz 2 (aldi have pack of about 50 on offer for £2,99 at the mo and reviews are good).
with regards to breast feeding I have brought the TT breast pump and microwave sterliser, also couple bottles. I intend to buy a couple of the TT anti colic bottles as well but even if were bottle feeding you dont really need more than 6 bottles so around 4 is fine IMO.
Muslins and bibs can never have too many I have brought 5 muslins and 6 bibs so far and as will try to only do 2 loads washing a week max - have a 9kg drum washing machine would rather buy lots muslins and they are generally cheap enough.
oohhh fishcake - your username made me have to have fishcakes for tea last night felt like a 5yrs old with fishcakes, chips and beans but was lovely, husband had a marks and spencers pie he wouldnt have eaten kiddies dinner!!!0 -
