Aless I think it was a combination of both. Where I am people literally queue up for days when a new nhs dentist opens. I think I rang 12 practices in total trying to get taken on, the final one I rang I didnt mention I was pregnant until they offered me an appointment then said 'Oh, Im due to give birth the next day. Have you got anything else?' The receptionist then told me to make sure I bring my exemption card. I might be registered as fully fee paying once my card expires but I'll cross that when it comes!

Do you need a separate exemption card for the dentists???
Opinions are like ar*eholes - everybody has one!!!! :D
  • Ohhhh you are totally her age!!! I think, I was 15 when Hanson came out she was 13 so yeah she would be 26, do you know Lisa Hart****** Ive blanked out the last part of her name lol

No, sorry! I only lived there for a year so didn't really meet that many new people there!

Sidekick that must be hard to deal with. It does sound as though you are prefectly placed to have a baby now . As for the hosue though, I'm sure your landlord can't make you move out becasue you have a baby?! Surely?!

Maybe he does just need some time to get used to the idea. Don't really know what else to suggest to you hun :o so have a (((((hug)))))
  • Sidekick maybe he just needs a little time to get used to it all. I never considered not carrying on with the pregnancy as I knew I did want a child I was just shocked that it had happened when it did. We've been together 3 1/2 years and are also in rented accom, we werent engaged when I fell pregnant but are now as its something we'd been planning on doing for ages just never got round to.

I found in the early weeks it really helped me to not talk about it for a few days, every conversation and thought seemed to be about babies but while I was still trying to get my head around it if I could go 2 or 3 days without baby talk it made me realise what wanted. (That probably doesnt make any sense sorry, I just know it helped me)

you sound like me! this is exactly our situation - we would go a few days without talking about it which I think is a good thing because it gives us both time to think about what we want individually then when the time comes to talk to eachother we have something to say about it all and have views. it's just a shame his views aren't as positive as mine :(

funny thing is..the Landlord has said 'no children, no pets' yet OH has brought a kitten and has several tarantulas...so he's breaking the rules anwyway :D

i am really hoping he just needs time to get used to the idea. some friends of mine who have had babies in the past have said at first their OH were reluctant about the whole thing but then came around and ended up being more exicted than the expectant mother! fingers crossed.
I knew i could count on you ladies to cheer me up and put me back in high spirits..even if only for the day (until tomorrow comes a new problem!)
