I dont know how true this is my OH Bored me to death one evening with it apparently way back when 100's of years ago all babies were refered to as girls as to call a baby a boy was an insult as that is what they refered to the servents as also it was the custom to dress boys in pink as it is a colour associated with red which is a sign of strength and power blue was considered a wussy colour. So ladies if you end up with the wrong one after being told your having a certain sex you can say your dressing them the historically correct way ;-)
:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j
  • Morning all :j

On the subject of finding out the sex - I have been at work when a lady was rushed in for an emergency c-section for her little girl only to find out when she woke she had a little boy. All the relatives were turning up with pink balloons and pink fluffy gifts and then hurridly putting them back in the cars! But it is a rare occurence!

Hope you all have a lovely day planned.:) I am going to be very lazy today, also didn't sleep well as soooo uncomfy at night heaving my body from one side to the next in a bid to sleep! Sprout is so incredibly active now, my other two never spent as much time playing with my rib cage as this one seems to!!!

Got sis and BIL coming over to help move some furtniture this afternoon as there is no way that I can attempt this now or OH can do on his own, although I have been very naughty over the last few weeks:eek: moving bits around, I have to start being much more sensible.

Was watching the prem babies on tv yesterday afternoon, they were showing a heart valve op on a 23 week prem baby - absolutely astounding. Amazing how much we rely on these very clever teams when we need them :p

Thinking of driving to the city tomorrow, an hour or so from me, but advice please, they have a TKMax and ToysRus, are these good stores to hunt down for baby bits? Its a long way to drive and back if no good, so you guys in the know your advice would be appreciated.

Do tesco and Matalan do nursing bra's???

Som what was the nursing bra rule again? was it the back fits on the tightest but you need a cup bigger, and is that bigger than what I am measuring now?

Just we are off to mothercare this afternoon but I want to check out tesco as well and they dont measure you.

I may be wrong but I thought that nursing bra's should fit on the loosest setting as then when your lung capacity gets less after baby is born and as you lose weight you can do it tighter. When I was measured for mat bra's I didn't know this and the bra the lady fitted for me fit on the tightest setting and as soon as DD was born it was really baggy and was next to useless!

Also not sure if this is right but I thought you should go up one cup size? They are really stretchy though and I wore mine for about 9 months (until I realised you could just feed in a normal bra) and I went from a G cup which I normally am, to prob a J cup when my milk came in (only for about 2 days) then shrunk back down to a G and the cup size always fitted.

Yes that makes more sense lol trust me to get it the wrong way around lol

I searched on Matalans site and they have a pack of 2 for £10 which is good, I cant find any on tesco website, obv mothercare will have some but they will be dearer

We arent going till after lunch now, the measrung thing on matalan site confuses me lol so I need to figure that out lol

If I get a cup bigger will I be able to wear them now still? (just I need new bras desperatly lol) or should I just get another cheapy one that fits for now? (bean is due in 9 days)

Hello, OH felt bubs move for the first time last night. He was slightly weirded out, but really happy too. Bubs is definately really active, I've noticed it so much more just over the last couple of weeks, and I'm starting to look pregnant rather than just like I ate all the pies :j

This makes more sense than Matalan

YOUR BRA MEASUREMENT – 2 STEPS

    1 – Band Measurement

Take the measurement in inches at the fullest part of the bust (1). Add 4 to it if it’s even or add 5 to it’s odd. This will give you the band measurement.
    2 – Cup Size

Take the measurement in inches at the fullest part of the bust (2). Work out the difference between the band and the bust Measurement, usually between 0 to 7 inches. Use the Chart to work out your cup size.
From 36 weeks when you are fitting for a nursing bra, allow room for your breasts to increase in size with breastfeeding. Fit on the loosest hook and with breast pads inserted as an indication of how much your breast will increase (around 1 cup size bigger).

I like these for in bed
