EA - I quite enjoyed watching it while ironing, made the time go faster and was nice not having OH asking what was happening which he usually does in those kinda films. My Old boss used to get those white spots on her tongue after eating pineapple, turned out it was some kinda alergy to them! That student discount curry sounds fab
yup I sing along to songs all the time.

Courgette -yeay for telling HM, eww at the placenta stuff!
agutka - cool seeing death eaters lol.

Heather on Eastenders (which is always so true to life lol) was told girl and then it was a boy, and my friend's cousin was told she was having twin girls but had a boy and a girl.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
My friend was told they are 98% sure she's having a boy, and she had a 4d scan to confirm it, it was a boy lol. I was like, its either a boy or not! Im sure it wont drop off! lol.
But then i was so convinced i was having a boy, i didn't belive it was a girl lol.
I dream all the time that we have a boy and he has to wear pink for a few weeks lol.
We actually have some boys stuff that someone gave us and i love so i've kept it for baby to wear inside lol. They could be classed as unisex clothes but they are more boyish than unisex...Im sure she wont mind...

According to info I found on the internet, it's only Neville out of the lil ones who's filming here. And I wouldn't have expected to see anyone famous milling about after shooting. They rush you along anyway so you can't stop and ogle - the park apologises for the inconvenience, but promises the fee will be used to improve services. Tell that to the hundreds of families who will have nowhere to park at our favourite forest over the weekend with the weather turning springy.
Ooh, one of my group of mummy friends has just announced her pregnancy. All very exciting!:wall:0 -
hi just having evening in, watched loads of trash on 4OD, including '8 Boys and Wanting a Girl', it made me really sad
love the pics Nikki, he's gorgeous, like everyone else i now feel very impatient!
ymake, how exciting you are feeling movement, i am 18 wks tomorrow and i can definitely feel rumblings now, but no major kicks as yet... i had a bath earlier and bean seemed to wake up which was cool
so glad it's the weekend, this week has been crazy!
Right question - has anyone decided to use washable nappies? I do want to use them in theory, especially cos we want more kids so would be really MSE for that, but i'm so confused with the different types, what you need, how they work, etc. etc... gonna use disposables for first few days and trips out and about i think, but on the whole want to stick to the washables... any advice welcomed!!!0 -
Morning all
Shamefully Ive been awake since 3am and just cannot get back to sleep.
The need to change position regularly bought on huge surges of heartburn and reflux... and I kept sitting up and moving about so much I didnt think it was fair to DH (who has a 12 hour shift to do) so I came downstairs and read for an hour, and then clock said 5:20am and i figured it was a reasonable time to be on mse LOL
Got a sharp stabbing pain in my jaw as well, just in front of my ear....just thanking god its not my teeth again....
Am debating a hot bath and then seeing if i can get to sleep, but im not hopeful on that front, feel totally wide awake...
As for reusables DP, Ive been drawn to bambino (i think thats the name), can get a complete birth to potty set for sub £200, and all you'd need to buy is liners, but you can also buy sets in stages, so for newborn etc costs around £40...... trouble is we're not having other kids so it wouldnt save us anything there, and £200 is a lot of money for us to find in one hit..... but would save us money in the long run over disposables and is much better for the environment
See you all @ a much more reasonable hour for pregnant women LOLWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Just sat and caught up with everyone's news... (Alex is sleeping soundly, whereas I am an insomniac)
Firstly, congrats to nikkit- he is gorgeous
One thing I will say about NHS staff- after how I was treated and the fab job they did with me during the birth, I will never bad-mouth them or the work they do ever again. I think that the NHS is wonderful. Yes, they are overworked, underpaid and stressed out and sometimes this shows through to our care, but when it mattered for me they came through and did a great job.
Reusable nappies: Alex has been cloth-bummed for 5 days now and I can strongly recommend bumgenius flips. We have 6 covers, and I have made 20 inserts and if I wanted to wash everyday then that would be enough for us. I also have fuzzi-bunz (the sized ones) and they are fab too, but bulkier for taking out in the changing bag. Flips work a bit like mothercare smart nappy- I used the SN disposable inserts in hospital for a day to comply with their non-cloth policy (I did then change on the second day in hospital because I didn't care much for their policy). Flips are birth to potty covers so save money in the long run, and fit Alex perfectly already at 7lb 10.
Bambino mios are interesting because so many people don't get on with them, or at least that is the experience of peeps on the cloth board I am on. I would advise not buying too many of the same nappy until bubs is here- a £200 birth to potty set that you hate is quite an expensive mistake.
I have decided at the moment to not put a birth story on here because it was so dreadful and scary and I don't want to frighten anyone (every intervention going bar c-section, Alex's life being seriously in danger and losing 2 pints of blood). However, one thing I learned: next time I will not bother spending hours on a birth plan, all it did was lead to me being disappointed that the reality was so different. When it all became an emergency the medical team did what was necessary for Alex and me and thats all that matters. next time all I will do is write 'do what is best for me and my baby'. (having a teary moment now)
Bottles: Alex is bottle fed both formula and ebm. In hospital the formula came with Nuk teats, which he loved, and we are using TT closer to nature now we are home. However, we also bought some boots natural touch ones and they are completely useless. (think someone else has said this). The teats are all malformed and so leak everywhere which is annoying for me but really quite upsetting for Alex who ends up soaked through. I am taking them back to boots today to complain and hopefully get a refund towards some more TT bottles.
One last thing- someone was asking ages ago about travel systems. we have been out and about with our bebe confort streety in the past few days and I have decided that I love it and it was worth every penny. Definately one to consider.
Right- off to restuff some nappies:jMummy to 2 small 4 year old bundles of mischief!:j0
