    I NEED A WEE!!!!!

the toilet is blocked with cat litter, has been since 10am and OH doesnt want to come and help me use the uber plunger cos i am too much of a woman to do it properly :( and i accidently splashed it everywhere when i tried!!

i pointed out that he should because if he cant unblock it when he gets in from work we then have no toilet for the night cos everywhere will be closed so he wont be able to get a even-more-uber-plunger, but nooooo he is a man and knows best!

i am waiting for seth to wake up so i can go round my nans and use her loo :o

  • Afternoon all. I'm finally sneaking a quiet moment to myself - rushed round like a busy person all morning getting the house straight (and decided it would be a good idea to clean the mould off the bathroom walls too.... I'm sure they didn't get this bad last year :( ), then had friends round for lunch. I have concluded that 2 babies don't make very much more mess than 1 baby, but 4 grown ups and 2 babies can't eat anywhere as much as I thought they could. But at least I don't need to cook much for tea now :)

Now DH is in town, and Izzy is alsleep (I think... she keeps coughing, but hopefuly will go off again, she hasn't been sleeping for long).

I have been trying to babyproof her room over the last week, as part of my grand sleeping plan. At nursery she sleeps on a mat on the floor and they get her off to sleep just fine. At home she breastfeeds herself almost to sleep then gets off my lap and lies down next to me on the sofa, or on the floor, but then makes a fuss when I move her into her cot. So now we have the matress on the floor, and I can either lie down with her on the mattress, or sit on the sofa and she can get down when she is ready. When she is used to sleeping there instead then I will BF till she is sleeping, and then hand her to daddy to put her to bed. We just need to move the airer out of there and put a stairgate on the door before bed time tonight and we are all set :) (We are in a flat, so don't need the stairgate for stairs reasons, just that if she wakes up in the night and doesn't cry she could be anywhere by the time I realise she is awake ;) )

Now to drink my tea and catch up a bit before I commence round 2 of the washing up :)

Bad slummy parents alert :( we were late getting off on Tuesday for the Eurostar, and in our rush we failed to clean off the highchair and kitchen floor debris from Elijah's breakfast that day. On our return we found that mice have clearly got in through the gaps at the back door and had been scavenging the highchair crumbs :( :( I am filled with shame and also horror, and need to make sure they don't come back! Gah!

In other news my payslip has confused me, all this underpaying tax, but missing pension tax relief, and last tax year, and this tax year etc, I am pretty sure the tax code change they made this month has not done what the tax office told me it would! I am confused and gah.

Right! Surely by the time I hit post someone else will have posted! :)

    ETA: Nope!

Bruno - there is a tax calculator thing on the Inland revenue website - maybe you could use it to calculate what your tax would have been on the old code and what it should be on the new one to make sure they've got it right? I "do" payroll, so PM me if you need a hand :)

And  at the mice. Can you block up where they came in? You are renting aren't you? I would imagine your landlord is probably obliged to pay for work to sort out the door (i think you can get metal kick board things to put across the bottom - would that do it?).

Em, I'm glad you clarified on your post - why won't he do it? Is he going to call out a plumber without trying himself first? What will happen when he needs to go?!!! I hope you get to your Grans soon :)

If it's on FB, right click on the picture and select "save picture as" and it will let you save it where and call it whatever you want :T

I just took a bath - and it was wonderful. I had a lovely Lush thing in it, and then Molly joined me and I managed to feed her in there so she was quite happy and she stayed happy for some splashing and playing about. She's now sleeping off the exertion :rotfl:

Husband appears not to have noticed anything I've thrown away, which is a giant bonus. I'm going to get more, but my bag-a-day out policy has been covered for the weekend by the three I took out yesterday so he won't notice my hardcore decluttering.

Oh gosh I can't seem to find the time to keep up in here! I'm sorry that I posted then went awol!

Sami- you asked if the situation with my dad had got any better? Well..yes..and no! Huge huge row happened Wednesday between OH and my dad which resulted in OH hitting my dad,and my dad then grabbing OH round the throat  :eek:my dad was told to get out (besides other things!) so he has now gone to stay with his brother, apparantly coming back here Monday or Tuesday, which I'm absolutley dreading. I text him and said it needs sorting out, can't carry on pretending that everythings fine,us all living under same roof for weeks and weeks on end!! So hopefully when he shows his face again, this whole thing will get sorted out once and for all. Thats part of the reason I haven't been able to keep up cos my dad has been here so just to not be near him I've been making a point of being out of the house as much as humanly possible.

Ethan is doing super good..he'll be 1 month old on Thursday-scary how time flys by soooo quickly!! I had him weighed at baby clinic yesterday and he now weighs 9lb 11 :D The hv was really pleased with him and full of praise for me for keeping up the breastfeeding (which is going fantastic!) He's put on 1lb exactly in 2 weeks, so my worries about how much milk he's getting at each feed have been resolved. We've also had some huge gummy grins from him already, they are so beautiful to see! He is doing good on a night too..weve put him down in his cot awake a few times now and he has gone off to sleep by himself, and is averaging 4-5 hours sleeping before waking for a feed :T
love my little man he is amazing :j
  • Hi Helen - sounds like a great soap plot going on at your house! Ethan is doing really well, you must be making gold top :)

I really need to get Izzy's sleep sorted - she was doing 4-5 hours at night between feeds when she was new. Then went to waking up just once in the night. Then sleeping through. Then she started teething, and we are back to 4-5 hours (if I'm lucky!) at a stretch... Will see what difference the new sleeping arrangements make, but if she doesn't settle back down on her own I'm going to take a week off work in the new year and show her who is boss ;) I can't manage to let her cry etc when I've only had a few hours sleep and have to drive to work in the morning without killing anyone on the motorway. But if I take a week off then I can still send her into nursery etc as normal then go back to bed if I need to. (And spend time "getting stuff done" too.)
