Hello lovely! I hope the unexpected things weren't bad or at least if they were that it's ok now xx

a bit mixed, but happy now I'm home :D

Glam's OH is talking about finally getting wed after a very long engagement
My Chris is potty trained (no accidents today :j)
Sugar's OH has some kind of hernia/bowl obstruction so she's had to take parental leave as she was due back at work and is flying her mum over to help
Coleen Rooney has had a baby boy called Kai Wayne
MFD, Mooki, 3 and Em (did I miss anyone) are preparing to go back to work/having [probs organising it
    Rhys is 9lbs
Scruffy is living with parents after selling her house and not finding a new one
feely has been having it tough is being more open with family and professionals to help her

    errr thats all I remember

DH laughed at me when I told him last night that one of my friends had called their little boy Kai and therefore colleen must have copied her :rotfl:He got very confused when I tried to explain it all to him:p Thanks for the update.

I just googled myself  it was only 8 years ago it turns out! I wish I had, my mum recorded them but turned out her video player was on the blink and all the recordings were horribly lined and crackly and virtually unwatchable
I do have a little memorabilia though - I won one round with the word "orgasmed" - and Carol played up to it a bit so it got on page 3 of the Sun, and the Virgin breakfast show etc, and still occasionally gets shown on blooper reel type shows! So I have a copy of the tabloids with it in :p and a dictionary signed by Magnus Magnusson :D

yippeeee:j Oh and party at your house with your 8 bottles of Champagne. :rotfl:

I'm worried - I have 7 oils, 3 vinegars, olives and champagne in the fridge (to be fair the champagne has been there for months!) and I roast my potatoes in goose fat. :rotfl::rolleyes:

Wellllllllllllllllllll ......... The plan was to "room in" at the hospital on Sunday night to try and establish full BF.

Halfway through Sunday, the docs on the ward round announced they didn't want Andrew to be in the room with me, as he wouldn't be on a sats (oxygen) monitor - they'd have to keep Andrew on the ward :( So I ranted a bit, as I'd organised things around being in that night, there was no point if I couldn't hear him to feed on demand, I'd happily have a monitor in the room, etc. The docs re-considered after a couple of hours and finally agreed I could have Andrew with me, so long as the nurses carried out spot checks :)

However, BF didn't go well. Andrew would appear to still be too small and premmie to maintain a latch for more than a few sucks. We thought it might just be a case of environment, relaxing, no pressure etc (hence rooming-in) but nope. Sunday night was very distressing for him and for me, as he was hungry but unable to feed properly. In the end, I gave him back to the ward for tube top-ups of EBM.

So Monday morning, I made the decision to try him on a bottle (still EBM), figuring we have nothing to lose - if he takes to it, then we're fine; if he doesn't, then we haven't stepped backwards. Little devil took to it like a duck to water :D This was on the hospital's premmie teats, but we've since also tried him with the (MSE freebie) Breastflow bottles and he's good with those too.

So, the plan of action is to continue trying him on the breast at each feed, but not to the point of exhaustion; and then to supplement with a bottle, letting him dictate when he is full up (as we don't know how much he receives from the breast). His feeding tube has finally been removed :)

Today is our Discharge Planning Meeting :j :j :j :j :j Fingers crossed everybody! The hospital haven't realised, but they're holding this meeting on what would have been Andrew's original due date :)

em - I have a couple from next. They have arms and totally cover the babys front. My ones do up with a single press stud at the nape of the neck, meaning LO can't pull it off! They are great for eating/feeding anything that may stain. I got mine the the half price sale. These ones are cloth, but some are plastic backed or plastic all over. HTH

  • People talking about all over bibs/painting coveralls/bibs with arms, they used to always do them in H&M really cute ones with WTP or Hello Kitty or Sesame St on the front, might be a thing to ask for on the Xmas list.

Just catching up with a coffee before swimming whilst his nibs eats his crumpet. Although with numberjacks on he may need hurrying up a little

Later we are going to Ikea to buy more all-over-bibs to keep at the CM's house :D

I may just join this family card thingie you all talk about :o

Have a good day all - Weezl, hope I was some help xxx

And in a parallel universe far far away:

I am catching up with a cup of tea.

Later I am also planning to go to Ikea to buy some muslins and long-sleeved bibs and whatever else I can fit into a Smart car that has me, Leila, a large pushchair and a car seat in it!

I already have a family card thingie so may indulge in a free cuppa tea.

    xxx
