another vote for fushcia here, and another vote for OMG-ness at how terrible the student finance people are, there are going to be younger students relying on that to pay rent and buy food, let alone the mature students needing it to survive! i wonder how many have been made homeless because of it?

I love both colours - could you order both and send one back?

Well a lovely row with dh nothing like it to put you in a good mood for the day! I am getting so sick of all this, I'm not sure I can cope with him anymore....

Don't think I will bother with my nan's today, not really in the right mood now.

Em - It is disgraceful isn't it!!!

Glam - I take Liam in just his swim nappy. TBH, we have seen a few in the normal swimming sessions, both at home and when on hols, that did the same. At ducklings Liam is the only baby boy, all the girls have cossies. I haven't been able to find him anything to wear in the shops because it's the wrong season, the odd bits I have found start at 6 months, which is too big. I have seen the suits Elle linked to on Ebay - I wasn't sure about them, but might give it a try.

Single Huggies swim nappies are reduced to 20p in Sainsburys. We have load, a pack of 10/12 is £5 ish IIRC.

Mel big hugs! It's a stupid situation that you may not be able to carry on due to the incompetence of student finance.

Hugs to Mookie too! Sounds like your company have put your little family through the mill, at least you can go home and see that gorgeous smile and forget all about the barstewards!

For swimming, I'd say let him wear a top. Either a swimming one or just a vest. They do get cold pretty quick.

I've been trying to get Rhys to sit up but I don't think I'm trying hard/often enough :o The physio's assess him from his corrected age so they're in no rush for him to do it  We try and he does it for a few seconds, then he nose dives forward, ends up on his front and then rolls over so it's quite a nifty move, just not what I'm trying to teach him to do! :rotfl:
Rhys is only just six months isn't he? 6-9 months is supposed to be the typical age range so he's not exactly behind yet.

Is it not standard to refuse to pay out if there's no receipt? It happened to me and I assumed that was just how it worked. *shrugs*
I can't see how they could justify a policy like that. What about things you've been given? The majority of our stuff has been given to us and the policy I had when we got married specifically increased cover for a certain number of days before/after marriage to cover gifts received.

  • Afternoon all - hard work day today - have been working on the allotment this morning - one less chicken shed on the new bit now :)

I'm failing completely to get any food into Izzy this lunchtime. Saves me cooking for myself I suppose ;) She is currenty eating/playing with some rasins, so she's not completely starving herself anyway.

I bought some haddock fillets in tesco (they were in the reduced bit!) for Izzy, and I have no idea what to do with them. I'm vegetarian, so have never cooked fish in my life. Any idea what baby -friendly stuff I can do with haddock fillets (or even how I cook them at all??!!).. I have leeks, mushrooms, peas, sweetcorn, and a sweet potato, so I was thinking maybe do a bake thing with some kind of herby sauce?

I want to take Jack swimming in the next few weeks but wanted to ask - what do LO's wear in the pool? :o
Obviously a swimming nappy (thanks Elle) but do they have special swimsuits?

Sami - I THINK with paypal, if you have funds in your Paypal account, I dont think u pay fees BUT if you dont and they take the money from your bank then there are fees. The fees are just for the receiver though.

Izzy has a swimming costume someone bought her. I'm not sure I would bther buying her one nyself though - would probably just take her in a swim nappy otherwise.

Thanks for advise on swimming things, think I will get one of those wetsuit things(thanks elle). I have a circulation disorder and I worry about him getting too hot/cold because I can't tell temperatures very well! I rely on thermometers a lot to keep me right and I wouldn't want him getting so cold that his teeth chattered before I realised it wasn't just me that was cold!!
