    hi all,

    just read this page sorry.

windy as heck here down south.

okay, looks as though i am booking tickets in the next day.

so... what to take on the plane????

    My list
bottles (i have bought some of the sterile ones in boots already to see if LO will take to the teet. she is quite funny about teets which is why i am trying before we go. if she doesn't take, then i will just take our normal TT CTN ones on board good luck with the steri bottles, seth will take them but not any others except the CTN ones so i think they must be fairly similar? he does have more of a chew on them but takes the bottle so its all good
formula (still not sure what is the best way forward with this. i know i can ring the boots air side and see if they have the ready to go cartons BUT what then happens when we have the connection, looking to be either dubai or abu daubi at the minute. i go through security again and face the liquid issue so if i have any cartons left they will have to go wont they?? should i therefore just take a box of formula on the plane? or saying that i have one of those three divider feed things, or i could buy those things that go inside the TT bottles to store the powder. are they likely to want me to taste that?? i DONT do milk IMO the easiest thing to do is to take a box of formula, a small one like you can get in 24hour petrol stations for ease of carrying, and then get some low sodium mineral water once through check in. it doesnt need boiling and then you avoid the possible issue with carrying cartons through, also leaves you with a little bit less to carry
finger food (baby food will be provided for LO but not sure what it will actually consist of? of course she can pick at whatever i am having too. fruit purees was suggested to me by HV) i would take some jars of food you know she likes to be on the safe side TBH
    muslins x 3
    pack of wipes
    pack of nappy bags
nappies x 17 (sorry sami - am thinking of also the three hour wait before we take off. i am sure i'm well overcompensating, but not something i want to be caught short on). 17 lol!!
    disposble bibs
    sleepsuit x 2
    vests x 2
outfit for landing (i dont want her meeting her nonna and pop in her nightwear :D)
toys (thinking a lamaze (sp?) doll she has as she bits on the beads, her vibrating teether butterfly, i am thinking of buying her a book thing from M&Ps called 'are we there yet' and it crinkles, has a mirror and a horn sound (still have a voucher there), a rattle horse thing ... hmmm.. what else. will just one be enough?? i know seth gets very bored of his very quickly :undecided

what have i missed??? i was thinking a blanket, but then they are supplied on a plane. although thinking, she might need one in the airport. a sleeping bag!

sorry for the mammoth boring post, but if anyone has a free spare four weeks and wants to do the journey with me, then you're more than welcome

    xx

I cant face the sad eyes when you leave them! I had dogs when I was growing up - normally labs but had a great dane as well. Think OH had a scare when he was younger plus he's Dad doesn't like them
He's frightened of my mum's dog who is the softest thing ever!

    Right, I think he's fallen asleep :j
Plan to do a dream feed at 11pm - do u think he will be in a deep enough sleep having only just dropped off now?

    what to do ladies....

i have been quoted flights by thomas cook, but have just found some online with the same airline, same dates (but better outgoing flight time ... night flight instead of 9am flight) and the flights are about £40 cheaper. its with Southall Travel. anyone ever heard of them????

    hmmm....
i would love to pay someone to come, honestly, if i could get away with it i seriously would and i'm not joking :D

disposable bibs - can't say i'm a fan either and like Benjamin, LO does just tear them up but i thought it would save taking the real deal. i bought tommee tippee ones of these too. okay, might re think that one.

Just try them before you go with them...I seriously regretted not trying them out before we went on holiday...but every baby is different - and mummy for that matter!

so you can sleep easy MFD i will take 18 :D then you and sami can rest easy.

    Just pretend to ;)

LO likes those heinz biscotti things and she will have rice cakes so i might take some of those. i must say i'm not too picky about what she eats (except salt) as i like her to try different things as i was a fussy eater.

The apple ones are on offer in Asda at the moment for 50p (although we haven't tried them yet). It doesn't matter how many she eats on the journey if they make her happy!!!
When we go out I don't bother about salty stuff (I wouldn't let him have crisps or chips with salt or anything REALLY salty) but things that have had salt added whilst cooking (potatoes) I just go with it...or give him the inside bits to eat.
    One day will be fine.

must keep working on her and the sippy cup (as it has a lid so therefore better for the plane). she will take water sometimes and squash. although am i being over cautious worrying that the water will go through her (like we use it when they haven't been pooing) as i dont want to create more of a need for nappies than normal.

Did you buy the basic Tommee Tippee one with the fold-up lid? I bought a few others before I realised why EVERY one of my mummy friends uses them!!! They are fab!

Water shouldn't have the same effect now LO is weaning.

MFD - salt is my nemesis :rotfl: I think I notice it more because I eat very little of it, if I have a packet of crisps I need to drink about 3 pints of water after to feel normal :o

LOL - as I said, I don't let LO have salt normally...but on a long plane journey the rules change a bit...it is not like AF is going to give LO salt and vinegar crisps!!

Which reminds me!! Imagine my surprise the other day when I opened a packet of quavers and they were not cheese - but Salt and Vinegar!!!! Why would you have them in the same coloured packet Mr Walker??? WHY???
