The year I got a bike, my parents hid it in the conservatory, knowing I wouldn't go in there because it was far too cold and all my presents were in the living room anyway. They were playing down all my presents, like I hadn't got much and "maybe Santa forgot some" but I don't remember noticing or feeling disappointed (to think, they could have gotten me even less - not very MSE! :p).. then they sent me out to fetch something from the conservatory and I found the bike - with a big wrapped box over it as well! :D I remember not being tall enough to lift it up over the bike and getting stroppy cos my Dad was too busy trying to take a pic of me to help me get he box off :o

Anyway, how are you Beenie? :)

I'm not too bad, just getting seriously fed up!! Doing lots of reading and becoming more anti-induction by the day, but then reverting back to 'hmm they know best though'. So just annoying myself really :p
Sister had 2 prems like Rhys and is making me feeling guilty for whining about it, and in fairness i did say i wouldn't complain after seeing what she went through but it's at day 9 now and i just feel grumpy and worried about induction.

ps i have no idea why i'm still up, i was going to bed at about 10pm :rotfl:

:DHi Susan, I saw you. How are you all?

I wrap all my pressies too, because that's how I've always known it to be done!! In fact every year me and dh have a row Christmas eve because I like to put them all mixed up under the tree, he like to have them seperated into piles for each person. Well when I was little part of the fun was finding one with my name on them ripping it open to see what is in it.... He thinks it is frustrating and used to love just have his 'pile' at the ready, no searching required.....

It is funny how most people continue the tradition that they were used to as a child.

Going to see dh's friends new apartment today. He is just moving out of his mum's house and he is 37!!!!! Looks like a nice place though, it's on a 'just been built' brand new estate. The houses and apt were only fully finished off last week.

Hope you all keep well and please, those of you in snowy areas.... Stay in, don't go out esp not driving!!!

    Morning x

Well I more or less wrapped all my prezzies last night :D The few I have left are stashed in Daniel's room and I couldn't get then out while he's sleeping. Am I a bad mummy for not wrapping Daniel's prezzies? He does have a Santa sack though??

I wondered why my head hurt when I touched it this morning and then realised it's where I bashed myself on the boot of the car yesterday

Mum is having 3 teeth out today  so she wants me and Daniel to go sit with her for the afternoon incase she feels rough.

    Hello Susan :)

    And everyone else :)

Thank you everyone who wished us a safe trip - I'm not sure at the moment what's going to happen. There's an epic blizzard outside that's been going all night and I can barely see the building across the street. Our street's a mess, and we're city centre - the airport could be in chaos.

The M6 is boogered as well so I'm tempted to get my Dad to come pick us up in the 4x4 so we don't have the worry of driving a little Fiesta in it.

I'm wrapping everything - but everyone is getting a big wrapped box with lots of unwrapped bits in it, because I CBA.

How's Ben this morning? And Seth?

    Morning

Hope all the poorly babies feel better and safe journey SS xx

I wrap everything up, even little things like they've got 3 Thorntons chocolate lollies each, all individually wrapped up! They've got huge stockings and everything goes in there. I think it's more exciting when things are wrapped as you don't know what they are and get all the anticipation as you open them.

When they've had big things like bikes, I've thrown a sheet or table cloth over them decorated with ribbon bows or tinsel :D

Everything is all wrapped up here ready and stashed in bin bags up the loft. We lift them down on Christmas Eve and put them out when all the children are asleep. The empty bin bags are strategically placed ready for all the paper to go into the following morning :D
Here I go again on my own....

Morning all.. It's sooo cold! Dunno what OH did to the heating (I'd set it to be on all the time last week :o) but it wasn't on this morning. 17degrees in our room and Rhys' hands are like blocks of ice, poor mite :( Needless to say, it's on now! I'm sat on the sofa with my hot water bottle on my feet!

:hello: Susan.. we've missed you! Everyone well? :) xx

Safe journey, SS xx If you don't get going today, will there be chance later in the week?

    Thanks everyone :)

Elle, I assume Lufthansa will move us to a later flight if we can't get out today, but I'd almost be tempted to see what sort of interesting enticements they're offering to reduce their passenger backlog.
