Elle - knowing what a fan you are of WTP I thought you might be interested in the little fleece top I bought for Benjamin today:
I haven't been a big fan of all the WTP stuff he had bought for him but I thought this was very cute!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Oh, hadn't thought of that.. :doh: It would have been nice to have someone to chat to about it, can't deny that. Even the midwife in charge of BFing support didn't have much knowledge about exclusive expressing.. (not that I have, just have the "been there done that - panicking my !!!! off!" experience
)
When I had DS1 and he ended up in special care with a NG tube, they just assumed I would BF because he had a little nuzzle right after he was born and I didn't push him away. While I was very calm about the whole situation, looking back I was very naive. I just went along with what I was told. So they told me I could express and I did. I didn't have any problems with it though it would have been nice if someone had told me that your nipples shrink back down, that it does make you feel slightly sick with that deep down tugging feeling. Then a bit of support when we hit the 'crisis point' of me wanting him home, being so tired from visiting SC for a week and him feeding 2 hours at a time would have meant we kept on feeding. I was still in shock and really had no idea what was going on.
I really can see you being a huge help Elle and what better experience than having been there done that in at the deep end?
And you Feelie, you were just made for being a BF supporter, and you have the 8.5weeks of expressing before he fianlly latched on experience. Plus you are a walking breast feeding bible (on here and elsewhere)

Is a trip to Crystal Peaks a good thing or a dangerous thing?

Thanks to everyone for advice on travel cots and reflux (Bruno).
Had a nice lunch out with my team from work - glad I wasn't going back with them afterwards though! Then I went to pick up a pair of boots I had ordered a couple of weeks ago so really pleased I have nice comfy boots to wear instead of trainers for a change!
On the last thread, there was some discussion about the use of honey, so thought I would post this story about a baby in Scotland who has contracted botulism this week:

Thankyou hun xxx
I've sent my friend a message to see what she meant exactly.. Still not entirely convinced I'd be the right person for it, but we'll see - I'd like to help if I canHave the time and experience, but need the knowledge!

Where's Feelie? Are you lurking hun? :hello:
My student-midwife-and-BFing-peer-supporter friend has suggested on FB that I become a BFing peer supporter.. How can that be when I don't BF (much)?! :cool:
I meant to ask how do you know said student midwife & Bfing peer supporter? She's talked me into doing the BFinf Peer supporter training at my local childrens centre which only started on monday if you wanted to come along with me?
You are giving Rhys your milk anyway and its good to see people still managing to feed their baby when you all have been through so much!:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009
