I guess Joseph is too obvious for this time of year

Joseph is my favorite boys name! :D
When I had him it was the only boys name I really liked, and still is.
So when V was on the way, I gave OH the responsibility of picking a boys name as I didn't like any others - he was very original and picked Robert, same as him!
It did cross my mind 'would it be bad to have another Joseph? Is there any law that says your children have to have diffferent names? :rotfl:

I'm feeling miserable today. Have had very little sleep, DS2 was up coughing a lot then when he was sleeping, Amber was up crying, legs stuck through bars, covers off, Ambertronicing, then I had weird dreams that woke me up, then my throat and head started to hurt, then my tummy.... Bit of a fight with Dh because I asked him to see to the boys (I feel very ill, sore itchy throat, nose producing lovely yellow stuff, headache, stomach and back hurts) so he gets up at 9 and then moans because I wont help him. Amber was sleeping next to me cuddled in so if I got up all I'd do is feed her anyway.

Beanie, Amber wasn't names till she was 6 days old.

First 3 days of her kive I was in ICU and the next week I was just too spaced to come up with anything!

Todays plan is to get LO weighed at the clinic then do some practice potatoes for Christmas dinner. I have 9 for Christmas dinner this year

Am experimenting on the best way to do roast pots in advance whilst keeping them edible. Lucky I have a 25kg potatoe sack under the stairs:cool:

right, now i've caught up, i need to fill you in on my interesting evening at the IL's! (we did go after my strop threatening not to :o)
as soon as we got in the door, MIL jumped on OH and told him she had seen DSD (8 years old now) over the weekend, who said that her friends at school have been saying that her daddy must hate her cos he doesnt see her or speak to her any more  so now she thinks that her daddy hates her and has been understandably very upset about it. The Ex has authorised () that she wants him to ring and speak to her tonight with regards to regular contact, cos although The Ex doesnt want anything to do with him, she recognises that DSD wants and needs her daddy in her life :T:T
then MIL had a bit of a strop at me cos i sat silently through the whole discussion, obviously thinking that i had something to do with the lack of contact, at which point i said "actually.........." and said how i'd been bringing it all up regularly and encouraging him to call her to the point of arguments! i also said how i'd suggested when OH changed his phone number a couple of months ago that he should have called or texted to pass the number on as a possible conversation starter, and IL's then went ballistic to think that he hadnt passed the number on, so luckily i came out of it looking like the angel that i am ;)
The Ex has also expressed interest in letting DSD know that she now has a baby half brother too, and previously she had said she didnt want her knowing in case she was upset that daddy would prefer seth over her because he lives with seth  what 8 year old girl would be upset about having a baby brother to play with?!

so while i am very very happy about all of this as it means that what i've been wanting to happen for ages is finally going to, i am also a bit apprehensive about the possible bickering and dramas that may or may not be about to ensue... is it wrong that i am relieved that OH will be seeing her on sundays when i am at work :o but OH has also said that he doesnt want to take seth the first couple of times he sees her, seeing as he hasnt seen her in 18 months, so i dont know what he intends to do with his son for those first couple of meetings! but overall, a good result :)

BM, lying is an important developmental phase, it shows that a child understands that they can know something that you can't. There's a developmental test where you have a sweet and two kids, and you pick up the sweet in one fist and send one kid out of the room. You then swap the sweet to the other fist and ask the second kid which hand the first one will think the sweet is in. Up till about 3 and a half most kids won't realise that the other kid doesn't know everything they know and will choose the hand that currently has the sweet in. Once they realise that things can happen that someone might not be aware of, they realise that they can manipulate this to their advantage - hence lying.

Big hugs wi3adora - hope you feel better today?

Did I say we reached the 'viable' mile stone a few days ago? :)

:rotfl: and :j to you. How are you feeling now after the few hours? Would Lucozade maybe help your sleepy state? All the glucose will make Kester dance a bit but shouldn't have the same effect as the caffeine?

I'm currently kicking myself for waiting until she is 10 weeks old to find an alternative to the hideous Baby Bjorn. Though I did see a lady in boots yesterday with a little baby in one and they both looked perfectly comfortable so maybe it was just me.

I love our BB - Husband and I can both wear it and it's eminently good at soaking up all the dribble Molly's pouring out. The only problem is that it'll only last till Molly's 8 or 9 months old :( We do have a backpack for after that though :j

Ahh names, I really must start making a decision on this... I guess Joseph is too obvious for this time of year, looking at my family tree though there are a couple. Also like William.. dont think we could use Fordson as a middle name even though it would follow theme of LO's middle name.

Joseph's the chosen middle name for our hypothetical boy, it's a tribute to my grandmother, whose name wasn't Josephine but whose husband used to call her Jo after the character in Little Women. I like William too, or if you're going for those classic names perhaps Philip or Matthew?

Girl names ... I don't think you can get better than Molly ;)
We did give her a very classical middle name though, in case she decides Molly's too cute for her in future. Amber is a lovely name too, though.

Hello chopsticks!!! And hello MrsMoc and Mooki!
 at used dummies, and I've emailed my boss to suggest a round of "please make a phone call or two and stop this appalling chaos happening" (update at the end of this post!).

    :eek::eek: em

Very cute, elle, I love that half-wakey sleepy face :A

Husbandly update - he's back from CT and does need the tube replaced, has informed his doctor that he needs everything done today as he's self-paying and can't afford multiple stays in hospital while they cluck things up and will be out by 11am tomorrow at the latest. Then he rang me in a panic - the hospital finances lady was standing over him holding a bill for €8006 for his first hospitalisation, says there's another open bill for his second, and insisted that he pays €3400 up front for this one! I've emailed my boss and asked him to investigate because it's just getting absurd.

Molly update - she's now getting nudey buff tummy time and is getting closer to rolling over, so I do think it's her giant reusable nappies getting in her way. Slept terribly, feeding every two hours all night, but is happily snoozing again now so I've loaded the washing machine, folded and put away all the grown-up laundry from yesterday, transferred the laundry to the dryer and made and eaten a lovely omelette. Also on my list is some Christmas wrapping, taking the rubbish out and visiting the husband.

Me update - my hair is falling out in handfuls :(

Edit for all you people posting while I was:

:grouphug: Tia, you must be exhausted!

Elle, I love the pixie picture on FB :) My hair's fine (but there's loads of it when it isn't moulting everywhere) and curly, and I have it in a graduated bob. It takes five minutes to put curl taming stuff on it and scrunch it with my hands, and if it dries wild I can pin back the front.

CSH I think the potatoes can be parboiled and then thrown in the turkey tray while the turkey's resting and you're doing other veg and gravy?

Em, you clearly are an angel - why did he not pass on his phone number? Poor DSD. But yay! that she'll find out about Seth! Do you think she'll be upset that she didn't know sooner?
