Pleased Dylan is ok MM. It's such a worry when little ones are ill. Been through similar with James when he was in hospital with double pneumonia when he was 2. Take care of both of you and just chill for a couple of days.

Sorry to just barge back in, but I have a question :o

Homestart volunteer arrives tomorrow, for our first two hour session. No one has really mentioned what she can/should do. Any ideas/suggestions?

Hi Feelie, nice to hear from you and hope you and Toby are well.
No idea about the home start, perhaps have a wee chat with her when she comes to see what she will be prepared to do.

Feelie Have you seen the homestart site? http://www.home-start.org.uk/about/what_we_do

We help to increase the confidence and independence of families by:
    • Visiting families in their own homes to offer support, friendship and practical assistance
    • Reassuring parents that their childcare problems are not unusual or unique
    • Encouraging parents' strengths and emotional well-being for the ultimate benefit of their children
    • Trying to get the fun back into family life
Our volunteers, who have parenting experience themselves, can offer:
    • Precious time for listening and talking
    • Help with the children
    • A break for parents
    • Practical help and reassurance
    • A chance to meet other parents in the same boat
    • Support to use local services and resources
Parents ask for Home-Start's help for all sorts of reasons:
    • They may feel isolated in their community, have no family nearby and be struggling to make friends
    • They may be finding it hard to cope because of their own or a child's physical or mental illness
    • They may have been hit hard by the death of a loved one
    • They may be really struggling the with emotional and physical demands of having twins or triplets - perhaps born into an already large family
I'd not heard of it before - looks interesting.

I just asked if anyone fancied it - glad to see someone is keen! Perth sounds a good mid-point and has transport links for those on trains and those in cars. Does anyone know perth i.e. a baby friendly place to meet up? the only thing I know is the swimming pool with the semi-outdoor pool:rotfl:

We hadn't got to a date or anything..... and of course it would be children too :D Definately once all festivities were out of the way...perhaps mid Feb time?

Is anyone north of Perth? It's just a bit out the way, Stirling is easier for me to get to. Actually, hoe far away is Perth from Stirling anyway?
